End of Abyss Guide | How to Get EMP Grenades

EMP Grenades are great against the robotic enemies in End of Abyss, especially when you have a few coming at you at the same time. They are in an upper room on Floor 2 (F2) of Factory West. The problem is that the ladder to this room is too high to get normally. You'll need the Grappling Hook to pull it down before you can collect the grenades.

Find the Room on Factory West Floor 2

The first thing you need is the Grappling Hook, which you obtain later in the Containment Sector. If you have already explored Factory West, you may remember coming across a room with a floor hatch and a ladder hanging above you.

That is the room you need to return to. Without the Grappling Hook, you cannot pull down the ladder or reach the upper room containing the EMP Grenades.

Head back to Factory West and open your map. Look at the upper-left corner of Floor 2, where you will find the room with the floor hatch.

Follow the connecting corridors until you reach this location. If you have explored Factory West before, the area should look familiar.

The floor hatch is a useful landmark, but you do not need to go through it to reach the grenades. Instead, look for the ladder positioned too high above the floor.

Pull Down the Ladder with the Grappling Hook

Once you reach the room, look up toward the inaccessible ladder. Equip the Grappling Hook and use it to pull the ladder down.

There are robots nearby, but you can move past them if you want to reach the item quickly. You do not need to clear the entire area before climbing.

With the ladder lowered, climb up into the room above.

Collect the EMP Grenades

At the top of the ladder, enter the small upper room and look for a box sitting on a bench.

Approach the box and interact with it to obtain the EMP Grenades. There is no additional puzzle to solve once you reach this room.

When to Use EMP Grenades

EMP Grenades are especially effective against the small robotic enemies you encounter throughout the facility.

They become even more useful in sections where several robots attack together. Instead of dealing with each one individually, you can use EMP Grenades to make those encounters easier.

They are worth keeping available for areas with large groups of mechanical enemies, particularly the more difficult robot encounters later in the game.

To get EMP Grenades, return to Factory West F2 with the Grappling Hook, pull down the unreachable ladder, and collect them from the box on the bench upstairs.
