Forza Horizon 6 Stories are short, objective-based events that take you across Japan and challenge you with different driving tasks. If you want to complete every Story, you’ll need to work through 9 Story locations and 27 chapters, with each chapter offering up to three Stars. Earning all three Stars in every chapter gives you 81 Stars in total.

How Stories Work in Forza Horizon 6

Finding Story Events

Story Events appear on the map as large yellow icons. Drive to one of these locations and enter the event to begin its chapters. You can complete and replay stories as you progress through Japan.

Stories are also part of the wider Discover Japan progression system. Forza Horizon 6 separates its progression into Wristbands, Stamps, and Horizon Play, with exploration and discoveries contributing toward your Collection Journal.

Understanding Stars

Every Story chapter has a one-to-three-Star rating. You only need one Star to clear a chapter, but earning three Stars is required if you want full Story completion.

There are 27 chapters, so the maximum is 81 Stars.

All Stories in Forza Horizon 6

Drift Club Japan

Drift Club Japan is a six-chapter Story focused on drifting. The chapters take place around Tokyo City and the Daikoku Parking Area, testing your car-control skills.

Moto Auto Zine

Moto Auto Zine contains six chapters built around automotive photography and magazine-style challenges. The Story takes place around Ito and gives you objectives that require more than simply finishing a race.

Yuji's Auto

Yuji's Auto is another six-chapter Story, located around Minamino. Its chapters focus on cars, driving challenges, and progression through Yuji's automotive journey.

Day Trips

The remaining Stories are six shorter Day Trips spread across Japan. Some Day Trips contain one chapter, while others contain two, giving you a total of nine Day Trip chapters.

How to Get Three Stars in Every Story

Follow the Objective

First, understand the chapter's objective before trying to maximize your score. Some challenges prioritize speed, while others require drifting, photography, skill chains, or reaching a specific target.

Don't treat every Story like a traditional race. Follow the on-screen instructions and build your approach around the required objective.

Use Rewind and Replay

If you make a mistake during a chapter, use Rewind when it is available instead of continuing with a failed attempt. You can also replay completed chapters to improve your Star rating.

A good strategy is to finish the chapter first, then return for the three-Star attempt if the objective requires more precise driving.

Tips for Completing Stories Quickly

Choose the Right Approach

For racing-based objectives, focus on clean lines and maintaining speed. For drift challenges, prioritize control and consistency over producing the biggest possible slide.

For photography and exploration objectives, slow down and make sure the required conditions are actually being met before moving on.

How to Earn All 81 Story Stars

To reach 100% Story completion, you need to earn three Stars from all 27 chapters:

  • Drift Club Japan: 6 chapters — 18 Stars
  • Moto Auto Zine: 6 chapters — 18 Stars
  • Yuji's Auto: 6 chapters — 18 Stars
  • Day Trips: 9 chapters — 27 Stars
  • Total: 27 chapters — 81 Stars

The official achievement list confirms that Storyteller requires earning all 81 Stars from Stories.

Final Thought

Stories are one of the easiest ways to add variety to your time in Forza Horizon 6. Instead of focusing exclusively on traditional races, they send you across Japan for drifting, photography, road challenges, and other specialized objectives.

If you're aiming for complete Story progress, focus on finishing all 27 chapters first, then return to the tougher objectives and collect the remaining Stars. Once you reach 81/81 Stars, you'll have completed every Story and unlocked the Storyteller achievement.
