Though there is a wide variety of equipment available in Grounded 2, some weapons and trinkets stand out due to their special abilities in Grounded 2.

Many of these items still require special keys to open or are concealed in obscure locations.

This guide covers the most unusual and potent early- to mid-game weapons and trinkets available today, which will give you a competitive advantage and utility boosts over standard equipment in Grounded 2.

Grounded 2 Guide, Best Starter Weapons

Essential Preparation

Before embarking on your weapon-hunting adventure, make sure you have the necessary equipment and supplies.

Your Buggy Companion is essentially required for this trip since it provides necessary transportation and has access to places that only ants can enter.

Since many areas need protection from harsh weather, consider stocking up on temperature-resistant tonics, particularly those that offer resistance to both heat and cold. Bring enough medical supplies, such as bandages, tonics, and other items for restoring your health.

You'll need at least three Brat Bursts to break through sealed areas throughout your exploration. If you lack the schematic, you can obtain it during the first location visit.

Upgrade your Omni Tool to tier two across all components - shovel, axe, and hammer. While you might manage with a tier one hammer, tier two provides access to valuable upgrade materials you'll encounter along the way in Grounded 2.

Gloom Skewer Spear

Travel north of the Snack Bar front area to locate the Toxic Anthill South Entrance. This location teems with cockroaches and ants, though riding your buggy prevents attacks unless you dismount near Red Soldier Ants or initiate combat.

The area contains abundant upgrade materials, including brittle and sturdy parts, so harvest everything possible with your tier two hammer.

You're in the right place if you continue into the anthill until you come to a sizable room full of poisonous lava. Seek out a light encircled by mushrooms that is obstructing your way. Clear these mushrooms with your tier two axe to expose the Gloom Skewer behind them.

This tier two spear is especially useful against enemies that usually resist piercing damage because it has a unique passive ability that temporarily lowers the enemy's stab resistance when you charge your attacks in Grounded 2.

Near the spear, you'll discover an Ominant Soldier corpse containing an optical disc that unlocks multiple schematics, including the Acorn Turret for base defense and the Brat Burst recipe needed for subsequent locations.

Scarlet Aegis Shield

Head east to the Ceremony Region and locate the trench containing another cave entrance. This area presents increased difficulty with scorpions, including potentially significant variants deeper inside.

Search for a brittle wall that can be destroyed with your Brat Burst. Behind this wall lies a chest containing the Scarlet Aegis Grounded 2.

This shield functions similarly to the Ladybug Shield but includes an additional benefit - perfect parries heal your buggy allies.

If you frequently explore with buggy companions, this shield provides excellent defense while extending your mount's survivability.

Pinch Wacker

Journey to the Fire Pit Area for this returning favorite from the original Grounded. While cooling items aren't strictly necessary, the pit's intense heat can cause damage quickly, so consider bringing temperature protection. Look for a cave near a large energy drink can in the region.

Inside, the entrance is where you'll mostly find scorpions and their smaller varieties, so fight close to the cave mouth. The Pinch Wacker is seated on a chair after using another Brat Burst to blast open a cracked wall.

This special one-handed smashing weapon works well with elemental-focused builds and deals elemental damage that excels at clearing groups. On the third hit, it releases an area-of-effect lightning blast.

Staff of Heatwave Scorching Orbs

Locate the Heatwave Staff by navigating to the Charcoal Pit. In addition to giving Finale Wave, which lessens chill buildup and helps survive cold environments later, this fiery orb staff has a sizzling passive that gives enemies burning effects. Noting that your buggy won't fit and that you'll have to walk, enter from the northeast side in Grounded 2.

Expect encounters with mind-controlled enemies and Bombader Beetles, though nothing overwhelming. During your descent, watch for a Hand Clustering that you should smash for bonus stats.

Near the pit's bottom, locate an action figure head that requires breaking down. Behind it, charcoal blocks your path - crouch past this obstacle to find the staff.

The area's extreme heat necessitates a quick exit. On your way out, climb to the very top to find a Golden Mer that provides additional character benefits.

Bushwacker Bow

Travel to Pine Hill, near where you completed the Orc Transmitter Quest. This tier two bow possesses the Cheap Shot perk, increasing damage against enemies at full health, making it excellent for ambush builds and precision-based mutations in Grounded 2.

On the right side of the hill is a web bridge that leads to the back of the bush.

The bow is positioned here on top of a yellow leaf. Try using the free camera to locate it precisely in photo mode with the HUD off if you're having problems finding it.

Since the area becomes challenging to navigate in low visibility, finish this search early in the day when lighting is at its best.

Eco Exploitation Token and Scarlet Avenger Sword

To retrieve two items, go back to Pine Hill and enter the Spider Den North Entrance. The Crimson Avenger, a tier two one-handed sword that increases critical chance against spiders specifically, is located inside and is ideal for clearing the den.

The second item, the Eco Exploitation Token, increases hauling strength while reducing damage dealt to spiders.

Navigate through the tunnels filled with slime mould stalks, which lead to a ledge that your ant can break through, indicating the correct path. Continue deeper until you fall into what appears to be a lunchbox.

On the right wall, locate a wad of gum requiring a tier two shovel to extract. Collect both the Crimson Avenger from the floor and the gum for future use.

Proceed to a split path and take the left path to locate the trinket. The corpse of an Ominant Soldier holds the Echo Token on the left as you get closer to the end.

To get out fast, take the right-side route from the original split.

Sickles of Ice

The Icicle Daggers are the hardest weapon to find in the snowy area. The harshest conditions in the game can be found here, where waves of scorpions continuously spawn and actively cause chill buildup.

Prepare extensively with six Blazing Brews, four Green Machines, and twenty bandages as a baseline supply recommendation.

Enter the icy maze and locate the giant ice cream cone, climbing it to reach the next level. You're progressing correctly when you see the golden bridge leading to the turbine area.

Upon reaching the fan area, ascend to the top first - being outside reduces chill buildup, and you'll find a Golden Mer to collect. Return down and locate where the turbine gears meet in Grounded 2.

Break down the icicles to shift the fan and unlock the secret compartment, which leads deeper. Descend and break another Golden Mer before proceeding deeper into the cave.

The Ice Daggers await on a pedestal that triggers a defense sequence when activated.

The weapon draws massive waves of scorpions, which appear to be designed for four-player groups, requiring significant strength or cooperative play in Grounded 2.

Position yourself near the fork leading toward sunlight to manage chill buildup during combat. After surviving the onslaught, claim the Icicle Daggers to complete your collection of unique weapons.
