This guide will walk you through the process of unlocking this Companion and explain its combat mechanics in Hades.

Unlocking Mort

To get Mort, you need to develop a relationship with Thanatos through a series of steps. Start by locating Thanatos during your encounters and offering him Nectar. You must give him six Nectar in total to trigger his favor quest in Hades.

The Favor Quest with Thanatos differs from typical Favor Quests as it does not appear explicitly in your Quest log.

Instead, you complete this Favor by participating in a narrative storyline that unfolds across multiple encounters with Thanatos.

During these meetings, you will engage in conversations and interactions that develop your relationship.

The Quest reaches completion when you demonstrate your combat prowess to Thanatos. Once you prove your strength through these encounters, the Favor Quest will be marked as complete.

After finishing the Favor Quest, you can offer Ambrosia to Thanatos. He will then reward you with Mort as a token of your bond in Hades.

Combat Mechanics

Mort functions as a summon Companion that calls Thanatos to assist you in battle. When activated, Thanatos appears on the battlefield and executes a powerful attack. He delivers 3,500 damage in a circular area-of-effect pattern directly in front of your current position.

You can use this attack on groups of enemies or single targets with big hitboxes. Plan where you'll be before you use Mort to do the most damage and make sure enemies are in the direct path of your attack in Hades.
