The Aspect of Beowulf is another hidden weapon Aspect in Hades that requires interaction with a specific NPC. Unlocking it changes how the Shield functions and provides new combat options in Hades.

Titan Blood Investment

To unlock this Aspect, you must first spend at least five Titan Blood on any of the Shield Aspects. It does not matter which Aspects you choose to upgrade, as long as the total reaches five. This investment is necessary to trigger the following steps.

Speaking with Chaos

Once you have invested the Titan Blood, equip the Shield and enter an encounter with Chaos. When you meet them, a special dialogue can appear in which Chaos mentions the Shield as an all-seeing Artifact that sprang from them after the dawn of time in Hades.

They also note that the weapon may appear to be defensive, but carries a different nature. If you receive this line, it means you are on the right path.

After this, you must meet Chaos again in a later encounter. During this second meeting, they will provide you with the waking phrase. For this conversation, it does not matter which weapon you have equipped, as the dialogue will still occur in Hades.

Unlocking the Hidden Aspect

Once Chaos gives you the waking phrase, return to the House and approach the Shield's placeholder. Equip the Shield of Chaos and then interact with it once again. Doing so will reveal the Aspect of Beowulf.

Abilities and Effects of the Aspect

The Aspect of Beowulf allows you to load your cast Stones directly into the Shield. When you perform a charged dash with the Shield, the loaded cast Stones detonate at the end of the charge. This detonation can inflict heavy damage, especially when combined with Attack Boons and cast-related Boons.

However, there is a drawback to using this Aspect. Since the cast Stones are stored in the Shield, you cannot use them independently. To activate them, you must perform the Shield's charged dash in Hades.
