How To Unlock And Use The Feature Unlocked Lab

Game Guide by Subyunplugged on  Feb 09, 2026

As you keep playing Heartopia, higher DG Member levels unlock new systems. One of the major milestones is DG Member Level 27. At this level, you unlock the Feature Unlocked Lab. This guide explains what the lab does, how research works, and what you unlock as you level it up.

DG Member Level 27 Unlocks

You need to reach DG Member Level 27 to unlock the Feature Unlocked Lab in Heartopia. When you reach this level, you gain one hundred extra warehouse storage slots. You also receive four hobby upgrade tickets and the Kitty Rug recipe. A new lab setup becomes available and stays important for future progress.

Progress may feel slower at this stage, but more systems unlock over time.

Upcoming Level Milestones

Levels twenty-eight and twenty-nine unlock very little. DG Member Level 30 is more important. At that level, you unlock Islands through the Island Usage Application. This feature adds new building and exploration options. Until then, most of your focus stays on the lab.

Accessing the Science Lab

After unlocking the lab, Atara contacts you and starts a quest. The quest asks you to use a research device and complete one research task. The Science Lab is located near Bob’s shop and Dorothy’s clothing store in Heartopia's central area.

Inside the lab, you interact with the Research Device to begin research.

Research Device Basics

The Research Device lets you choose items to research. Each item takes real time to finish. Some take hours. Others take days. For example, researching the Lucky Cat Coin takes two real days.

Once research finishes, the item becomes available in the Research Store. Research cannot be canceled. Materials and gold are used when you start.

Starting Research

To start research, pick an item and confirm it. Research costs gold. Early research usually costs around five hundred gold. After you confirm, a timer appears. While the timer is running, you cannot research another item on the same device.

Research Device Levels

The Research Device has its own level. Leveling it up increases research speed. The speed bonus can reach 25%. To upgrade it, you must meet requirements, such as raising the Central Console level.

At level one, research runs at normal speed. You gain research energy by finishing projects. That energy is used to level up the device.

Central Console Progress

The Central Console controls how many items you can research and buy each week. At level one, you can only research a few items and use one research device. There is also a weekly purchase limit.

Higher console levels unlock more items. Level two adds more furniture and objects. Level three unlocks moving and interactive structures.

Research Items

Early research items include Lucky Cat Coins, dice, rugs, and simple decorations. As you level up, more items unlock. These include trampolines, moving platforms, and special coins.

At Research Level Three, you unlock Roller Coaster Track parts. This allows you to build a working roller coaster on your home plot. Higher levels unlock coaster cars and more track types.

Higher Research Levels

At Research Level Four, items like the Slime Rug and larger coaster tracks unlock. Research Level Five unlocks tracks such as the Banana Loop Track and Serpentine Track.

More levels are planned for future updates. Locked areas suggest that researching more than one item at the same time may unlock later.

Research Time and Energy

Research gives Energy when it finishes. Long research projects often give low energy for the time spent. Shorter projects give less energy per task but finish faster.

Mixing long and short research helps you level up more steadily while still unlocking items.

Research Store

After research is done, items appear in the Research Store. Many items require Wishing Stars to buy. Some blueprints cost a large number of stars. Research unlocks the blueprint, not each piece, so you only need to buy it once.

Saving Wishing Stars early helps later.

Materials and Future Use

Some lab features hint at rare materials and premium currency. Items from meteor showers may be used later. Holding onto these materials is a safe choice until their use is confirmed.

Long-Term Progress

The lab in Heartopia is a long-term system. Progress takes time. Each completed research unlocks more building options and interactions. You prepare for updates and systems like Islands by regularly using the lab.

Once you attain Heartopia DG Member Level 27, the Feature Unlocked Lab is necessary. Carefully managing research time, energy, and money, you can acquire new tools step by step and stay ready for upcoming content.
