The objective of the Wish is to locate and eliminate a specific enemy by carefully tracking it and preparing for battle. To be successful, you need to know how to navigate the Slab area in Hollow Knight: Silksong.

Starting the Quest

Find the Songclave Wish Board, which is in the Choral Chambers area. The location of this area is in the upper right corner of your map. You can accept the Wailing Mother Wish by approaching the Wish Board.

Tracking Phase

Enter the Slab area to begin following your goal. The first thing you need to do is find Slime marks in the middle of the Slab. As soon as you see these tracking markers, follow them to reach the destination in Hollow Knight: Silksong.

Navigation to the Arena

You can get to the top of the Slab by following the tracking line. Continue along the path until you reach a bench. Before the fight, this rest point is your last opportunity to review and confirm everything. Turn left from where you are sitting on the Bench and go into the next room.

There is a way to get to the battle area above through an opening in this chamber. If you choose this option, you will go straight to the battle area, where The Wailing Mother is waiting. Ensure your Skills and Tools are ready before proceeding, as the battle will commence immediately upon entry in Hollow Knight: Silksong.

Combat Encounter

The Wailing Mother, who is also called the Broodmother during battle, is in the field. Use your chosen fighting style to defeat Broodmother. The encounter is like a challenge to see how well you manage your resources in Hollow Knight: Silksong.

Finishing the quest

Once you've defeated The Broodmother, pick up the Broodmother's Eye from the arena floor. This item serves as proof that you have won the battle and is required to complete the Wish. Return to the Choral Chambers and interact with the Wish Board and the NPC who gave you the task. Send in the Broodmother's Eye to finish The Wailing Mother Wish in Hollow Knight: Silksong.
