Hollow Knight: Silksong Guide | How to Regenerate Health with LifeBlood Easter Egg

Here's a guide on how you can get the Lifeblood Easter Egg or regenerating health.

In Hollow Knight: Silksong, it can be very annoying to be hit for 2 mask damage every time you decide to explore the maps you have just unlocked and die before you find a bench. A quick way to circumvent that would be to heal and unlock crests to heal faster.

But another way to circumvent this is to unlock the Lifeblood Easter Egg. In this guide, I will help you get this Easter egg.

Disclaimer: Before starting this guide, the terms 'plasmium' and 'lifeblood' will be used interchangeably, 'lifeblood' being the way to refer to this substance in Hollow Knight and the way the greater community refers to this substance, but in Silksong, this substance is referred to as 'plasmium'.

What You Will Need

You will need the cling grip ability, which allows you to do wall jumps, and have the Architect crest unlocked, which can be found in the Underworks area of the game. Which means this Easter egg is pretty late game. Having the double jump ability also makes travel easier.

Finding the Easter Egg

At first, you will need to make your way to the Wormways area, to the topmost section on the left. You will have to use the cling grip ability here to make it across the twisting caverns of Worm Way.

You can also find a bench there. To be able to start the Easter egg, you have to get the plasmium tool, which can be done by completing the Alchemist Assistant wish and the Advanced Alchemy Wish.

How to Initiate the Easter Egg

After you have unlocked the plasmium tool, you will first have to collect some silk to replenish the quantity of plasmium tools.

Using the Plasmium tool will cause you to gain lifeblood hearts. Another way to get lifeblood hearts is to destroy the lifeblood sacks found throughout wormways, which is something also required for the Rite of Pollip Wish.

Firstly, you will need to gather silk; this can be done by attacking the nearby worms sprouting from the ground. You can also fight the tiny enemies that spawn, but be careful not to get hit.

After it is done, you must use 8 consecutive Plasmium tools, at which point the lifeblood hearts will start shaking.

Upon using another one, Hornet will have her masks replaced with lifeblood hearts.

The Usefulness of the Easter Egg Itself

The Easter Egg allows Hornet's health to regenerate without needing to bind their injuries. Which means that getting hit is no longer a risk, as you can heal without even needing to gather silk.

This is extremely useful for situations such as parkour sections or even some boss fights, which are unforgiving in their stagger times. Having this unlocked before going to Mount Fay will provide you with ease of travel.

Other than the parkour sections, where getting souls is pretty uncommon, this ability has little use, as it doesn't allow you to bind your health, whereas binding allows you to heal 3 masks at once and now will only result in depletion of your silk.

Why is it an Easter Egg

This ability is also a nod to the original Hollow Knight, where two charms combined give you the same effect as this ability. Which is why I am calling this an Easter egg.

Regardless of its application, it is a fun addition to your game, and I encourage you, the player, to go check it out.
