If we shadows have offended, think but this, and all is mended.

So I took a ride down to my brother's college to see a play that his class was putting on. It was "A Midsummer Night's Dream", by a guy you may have heard of named William Shakespeare. And WOW. I mean, I always liked the story, but this was just amazing. The acting was brilliant, the facial expressions and gestures hilarious, their voices were strong and exuberant... and oh god, Puck. The girl that played Puck was just INCREDIBLE. At the end, when each of the cast came up to center stage to take a bow, she got the biggest amount of applause. Of course, if you act out A Midsummer Night's Dream, the play is only as good as the person who's playing Puck. And she was perfect; the way she moved across the stage (a kind of slinking, sneaking run with some cartwheels mixed in), her laugh (a snickering, cackling sound), the way she spoke, and all of the gestures she made (my favorite was when she was talking about how Titania had fallen in love with a guy that had a donkey's head, then began dry-humping a rock screaming "HEE-HAW!" :P It was so freaking funny) were so expertly portrayed.

All of the other actors/actresses were simply incredible as well, and there were so very many funny gestures that I was laughing throughout the entire play. Even when characters were in the back of the stage, while others were the center of attention, they were still doing funny things. Puck was often mocking and ridiculing the four lovers, Bottom was always getting into arguments and fights with the other commoners, and Egeus was always prying Lysander off of Hermia. (I just now realized that if you've never read the play, you have absolutely no idea what all these characters are, and therefore you're probably very bored.)

Just hysterical.

Now I'm off to write my next "Top 10 Characters" list; this one will be for November, and I'll have the next one ready for early December (monthly, it will be). See you all soon. :D
