I'm a laptop noob

Which brands are now known for making great laptops? And do you happen to know of any good ones with a 15 inch screen? Not going to use it for gaming. And Apple laptops, no, just no.

edit: mac book pro is tempting, I have to admit that.

 

I have looked a little bit and I get confused right away by all of the tech specs. What's a good CPU for instance? I have no clue
