Microsoft is investing $1 billion into games for the Xbox One. This will include new studios and securing exclusive titles for the next-generation console.
At Microsoft’s press conference Phil Spencer stated that 15 exclusive titles were coming to the Xbox One, 8 which are brand new franchises. Spencer also told OXM that Rare is returning to older franchises and Black Tusk Studios is working on Microsoft’s next big franchise. Lift London is creating small scale-cloud based games and new projects are in the works at Microsoft Studios Osaka. Microsoft has also acquired Twisted Pixel and Press Play to work on “weird†titles for Xbox Live.
This is not counting the upcoming Call of Duty Ghosts, Forza Motorsport 5, Remedy Entertainment’s Quantum Break, the Kinect powered Ryse from Crytek, and the 4 new titles from EA Sports
