Ori and the Will of the Wisps has a lot of abilities but some are required to progress. One of which is the stone breaking Spirit Smash. Here's how to get it.
First off, you'll need to progress in the game. After reuniting with Ku and Shreik's attack the 2 are separated again and Ori must located 3 Wisps to revive Ku. It's here you can purchase the skill from Opher.
Opher is located in the Wellspring Glades on the right side of the map. He'll sell you the skill.
