Palworld Guide | How to Use Oil Extractor Effectively

Here's a guide on how to use Oil Extractor effectively in Palworld.

This guide will teach you how to place two Oil Extractors on a single Oil Node, significantly increasing your Oil production efficiency.

Since Oil is one of the slowest resources to gather in the game, maximising extraction from each Node is crucial for your base development in Palworld.

Oil Node Orientation

Every Oil Node in the game shares the same fundamental orientation, which makes this technique universally applicable once you understand the positioning.

Look for a distinctive rock formation that protrudes from the back of each Oil Node. This rock formation serves as your primary reference point for proper placement in Palworld.

The rock formation isn't shaped like an arrow, but it's a noticeable piece that sticks out from the rear of the Node. This feature appears consistently across all Oil Nodes, regardless of the terrain or base location where you find them.

Positioning for First Oil Extractor

Position yourself on the opposite side of the Oil Node from the protruding rock formation. In most cases, this means standing in a northeast direction relative to the Node, though the exact compass direction may vary slightly based on your perspective in Palworld.

Move forward until you're standing on the left side of the Oil Node while keeping your cursor pointed toward it.

You'll notice that your cursor appears to be targeting an incorrect spot initially. This is normal during the positioning process.

Continue moving slowly until your cursor begins to register the Node properly. The targeting will work correctly as you find the optimal position in Palworld.

Most attempts will succeed using this method, though occasional repositioning may be necessary.

Placing the Second Oil Extractor

After positioning correctly, you should see a blue indicator flash, confirming that placement is possible.

This blue flash indicates that you have successfully placed your Oil Extractor in the correct position in Palworld.

Once you've built the first Oil Extractor, return to the exact positioning technique for the second unit.

The process remains identical regardless of which Oil Node you're working with or what base you're developing.

Universal Application

This technique works consistently across different bases and terrain types. Even when Oil Nodes appear on varied ground elevations or in variable environmental conditions, the rock formation reference point maintains its relative position in Palworld.

The compass direction you need to face remains remarkably consistent. Looking at your north pointer, you'll find that the optimal position typically aligns with a north-northeast orientation, regardless of the specific Oil Node you're targeting.

When working with Oil Nodes at different ground heights, the technique is easy to use in Palworld.

Lower ground placements give you more room to work with, which makes it easier to place things and lessens the need for exact positioning.

Execution Tips

Before placing anything, ensure you locate the rock formation that stands out first. This rock is the foundation for all your positioning choices.

Once you find it, stand on the other side of this configuration in Palworld.

Stroll during the positioning phase to ensure your cursor registers the Oil Node correctly.

Rushing through this step often results in failed placement attempts and wasted resources in Palworld.

Remember that you want to approach the Oil Node from the opposite side of where that specific rock formation appears.

This consistent approach works for every Oil Node you encounter in Palworld.
