This guide explains how to get Ancient Civilization Cores through expeditions, rather than endgame raids in Palworld.

The tech tree needs these cores at level 47; thus, you'll need the Large Incubator to level up your base before you can play the endgame content. It's a good idea to start collecting cores early, as you move up the tech tree, you'll need more and more equipment, such as shields.

These cores are permanent enhancements, not consumable resources. This means you won't need to stockpile a lot of them once your structures are finished, but you'll still need a few of them as you develop.

Prerequisites

You need to build an Expedition Cave and beat the boss in the Tower of the Free Pal Alliance. This tower is a big deal in the early game, which makes the expedition system available to you rather rapidly in Palworld.

Unlocking Expedition Routes

You can go on the Astral Frost Cavern expedition once you beat the Tower of the Free Pal Alliance. You need Ice-type Pals to use this cave, and they get extra firepower when they are used.

The game figures out how to give this firepower boost by putting Ice Pals at the top of the effectiveness rankings, even when their levels are lower than those of other types of Pals in your collection in Palworld.

Before you can leave on an expedition, you need at least 20 Pals of the correct type. The total power of your Pals affects how many awards you get from each expedition run in Palworld.

Recommended Expedition Strategy

After you open the Astral Frost Cavern, you should focus on the Celestial Sakura Cavern. This path gives you your first supply of Ancient Civilization Core and is easier to get ready for than subsequent options like the Dark Cave of Feybreak.

Multiple Base Strategy

Each base has its own Expedition Cave so that you can send out expeditions to multiple places at the same time.

Think about making separate armies for each type of elemental need. Ice Pals are suitable for early advancement, while Dark Pals need to be prepared at a higher level. The central place to farm Dark Pals is Feybreak.
