Mega Evolution allows specific Pokémon to temporarily transform into stronger forms during battle, enhancing their overall capabilities. 

In Pokémon Legends: Z-A, various Mega Evolutions can be obtained through story progression, defeating Rogue Mega Pokémon, purchasing from shops, or completing post-game and online challenges.

Below is a detailed guide on every Mega Evolution currently available in the base game, including their types, total stats, and how to obtain their respective Mega Stones.

Starter Mega Evolutions

You can unlock several Mega Evolutions by choosing specific starters and progressing through the main story.

If you select Chikorita as your starter, you can obtain Meganiumite during Main Mission 10 to Mega Evolve into Mega Meganium. This Pokémon has Grass and Fairy types with total stats of 625 (80 HP / 92 Atk / 115 Def / 143 SpAtk / 115 SpDef / 80 Speed).

Choosing Tepig allows you to get Emboarite in Main Mission 10, unlocking Mega Emboar, a Fire and Fighting type with 628 total stats (110 HP / 148 Atk / 75 Def / 110 SpAtk / 110 SpDef / 75 Speed).

Selecting Totodile grants you Feraligite in Main Mission 10 to obtain Mega Feraligatr, a Water and Dragon type with a total of 630 (85 HP / 160 Atk / 125 Def / 89 SpAtk / 93 SpDef / 78 Speed).

If you also pick Chikorita, you can later access Abomasite during Main Mission 10 for Mega Abomasnow, which holds Grass and Ice types and totals 594 (90 HP / 132 Atk / 105 Def / 132 SpAtk / 105 SpDef / 30 Speed).

Rogue Mega Pokémon

Certain Mega Evolutions become available after defeating specific Rogue Mega Pokémon.

Defeating Rogue Mega Beedrill rewards you with Beedrillite, allowing the creation of Mega Beedrill (Poison/Bug; 65 HP / 150 Atk / 40 Def / 15 SpAtk / 80 SpDef / 145 Speed; 495 total).

Overcoming Rogue Mega Ampharos grants Ampharosite, used for Mega Ampharos (Electric/Dragon; 610 total).

Beating Rogue Mega Barbaracle gives Barbaracite, unlocking Mega Barbaracle (Fighting/Rock; 72 HP / 140 Atk / 130 Def / 64 SpAtk / 106 SpDef / 88 Speed; 600 total).

Victory over Rogue Mega Starmie provides Starminite, used for Mega Starmie (Water/Psychic; 660 total).

Rogue Mega Victreebel drops Victreebelite, granting Mega Victreebel (Grass/Poison; 590 total).

Overcoming Rogue Mega Banette, Rogue Mega Camerupt, Rogue Mega Mawile, and Rogue Mega Absol rewards Banettite, Cameruptite, Mawilite, and Absolite respectively. These enable Mega forms for their Pokémon.

You can also earn Lucarionite for Mega Lucario, Slowbronite for Mega Slowbro, Dragalgite for Mega Dragalge, Froslassite for Mega Froslass, Hawluchanite for Mega Hawlucha, Dragoninite for Mega Dragonite, and Tyranitarite for Mega Tyranitar through defeating Rogue Mega counterparts.

Shop-Purchased Mega Stones

Many Mega Stones are obtainable by purchasing them with Mega Shards at Quasartico Inc. or at the Stone Emporium.

Post-Game and Online Rewards

Some Mega Stones require completion of post-game or online activities.

Winning fifteen matches in Infinite Z-A Royale during post-game unlocks Floettite, which enables Mega Floette (Fairy; 74 HP / 85 Atk / 87 Def / 155 SpAtk / 148 SpDef / 102 Speed; 651 total).

You can earn Greninjite by participating in Season 1 of Online Ranked Battles, granting access to Mega Greninja (Water/Dark; 630 total).

Delphoxite is available in Season 2 of Online Ranked Battles for Mega Delphox, while Chesnaughtite is awarded during Season 3 of Online Ranked Battles for Mega Chesnaught.

Story-Related and Late-Game Megas

Later in the story, during Main Mission 37, you can obtain Zygardite, allowing Mega Zygarde to appear as a Ground and Dragon type with 778 total stats (216 HP / 70 Atk / 91 Def / 216 SpAtk / 85 SpDef / 100 Speed).
