The First Descendant Guide | Best Viessa Build

Here's a guide on the best Viessa build in The First Descendant.

There have been several changes that have made Viessa one of the strongest skill damage descendants in the game.

Because she does more damage to a single target and a larger area, she is a good character for a lot of different types of material.

She might not be able to clear areas as fast as Bunny or Ines, but she does a lot of damage every second.

This guide shows you how to get the most out of Viessa using the newest Arcade Tuning Boards, Mutant Cells, and equipment setups in The First Descendant.

The First Descendant Guide, Best Viessa Build

Absolute Zero Transcendent Module

Pay close attention to Viessa's Absolute Zero Transcendence section only. In earlier versions, Cold Snap, Cold Bloodedness, Hypothermia, and Absolute Zero were all used for different situations.

But with the new buffs, Absolute Zero is now the best for all kinds of material.

The program is helpful in many ways. People liked to boss in Cold Bloodedness and mob in Absolute Zero.

The new arcade setting boards offer the same cooldown benefits. Absolute Zero controls all of her transcendence units.

By changing Viessa's skills to a single type of damage, Absolute Zero makes them easy to increase.

Your generator and mods make all of your abilities stronger, which works well together. The module also increases damage and gives a massive 20% bonus to skill critical hits, which means you can reach 100% without using any other critical hit mods in The First Descendant.

Core Survival and Damage Mods

HP's ability to stay alive changes first. Stay away from death because you can't hurt it. Focus On Chill increases her power and cooldown. With Viessa's heavy skill casting, lowering the cooldown is essential for keeping abilities up to date.

Next, raise the chance of a critical hit. With Absolute Zero's boost and base critical hit rate, she has a lot of room to grow.

The skills Insight and Concentration make it more likely to hit and do more damage critically.

Front Lines increases damage, but Emergency Measures is not needed because the arcade tune board's setup makes it 97% likely that a critical hit will happen in The First Descendant.

Cooldown and Skill Spam Setup

Reducing cooldowns is a big part of how Viessa plays. Nimble Fingers and MP Conversion significantly reduce the delay. These changes will let you use your skills without using weapons in your skill-spam approach.

Give Viessa ranged changes since she can cast spells from a distance. This completes your main build structure and provides an opportunity to modify the final part of your content.

Custom Final spot Mod Focus on Singular is the best choice for your final spot. Viessa doesn't need as many focus or modifier mods as many other characters do because she has high modifier ratings.

Her fourth ability does 1,500 damage over time, her third does 3,000, her first does 997, and her second gets some help from modifier improvements.

When you focus on a single ability, it does 6% more damage. On the other hand, lowering its cooldown means that all of your powers are always available.

Your fourth ability cools down and lasts for 6 seconds, so her strongest ability stays up all the time. Since your first power has no cooldown, you can spam shotgun in The First Descendant.

Quality of Life Modifications

Your final change will depend on the information. MP Collector lets you repeat skills in straightforward mob-based content, like 400% dungeons or open-world activities.

During boss fights where mana use is higher than mana regeneration for Void Erosion and Purge material, MP Collector fails.

For major fights and Void Erosion, Max Conservation is better. The 20% trait reduction doesn't affect Viessa, but the 35% skill cost reduction lets her use her abilities as much as she wants during long boss fights.

Bosses who are eager to fight Absolute Zero might be able to use Dangerous Ambush. You can also use Emergency Measures instead of Focus on Singular to handle cooldowns, but this makes you less flexible in The First Descendant.

Weapon Selection

The Viessa guns Frost Watcher, Blue Beetle, and Clairvoyance are all exciting. You don't need most specialized weapons because the way you play promotes skill spam over weapon use.

You can use clairvoyance to defeat enemies and remove their defenses, but it's not your primary tool. Blue Beetle cleans up status effects, but it lacks the mobility modification options of some other options.

As your primary tool, use Secret Garden. There are three places for mobility modifications, but you won't need to use your size or tech skills. As a result, the double running speed and recharge time for the grappling hook can be changed.

When you have Absolute Zero, double jumping and using a single grappling hook give you 100% air time, which means you can move faster and catch up to characters like Ines or Bunny in The First Descendant.

Setting up Reactor

For everyday stuff, the best reactor for you is one that deals skill critical hit damage with a skill cooldown.

Pay attention to the critical hit and colossus damage from boss fights. Absolute Zero changes all of your abilities into unique damage, so you need to find a cold singular generator.

This type of reactor is best because Viessa hits almost all the time, which makes critical hit damage very important.

External Components

There are many components to choose from, but cooldowns tend to favor specific options. Adding more sources of skill cooldowns raises their value because they grow.

For example, taking away 4% from a four-piece hunter set makes your fourth ability delay longer by about two seconds.

Using a two-piece Hunter Set, finish your fourth ability with 100% usage. Since the processor is the only Hunter Set item with HP numbers, it should be your first choice.

There are still a lot of options for parts. The sensor gives you a fourth ability tick, and the two-piece Firebrand enhances the range and length in The First Descendant.

A range bonus is not as valid as a duration boost. Annihilation Set has the same perks, but it doesn't have range.

Because it only gives you one skill power, Plague Set is better for your build than the chill skill power.

That's all the skill power you have, but your cold bucket is pretty big. Every item in the Plague Set gains HP, which makes it easier to stay alive.

Arcade Tuning Board

The critical hit rate and damage of your skills are more important than their power.

Changes to critical hits are more harmful than changes to flat skill power. Pay attention to range modifiers, which improve Viessa's skills and lower their costs. They can also reduce the cooldown of skills and make them stronger.

For mutant cell selection, stay away from Chill Cohesion even if it hurts you. The chill skill power stacks well with Chill Cohesion, but it needs a 50% trigger rate and stack building.

When hitting enemies that are frostbitten, Frostbite Vulnerability works 9.5% better than Chill Cohesion's 19.5% chill skill power.

The main difference is how Viessa distributes ability and power. Your base skill power boost ratio is 0.54%, which means you don't have many sources.

The power bucket for your general skill is almost empty, but the power bucket for your chill skill has significant boosts. The math shows that Chill Cohesion is 0.001% better, but both options do the same amount of damage in The First Descendant.

Frostbite Vulnerability regularly hits bosses and single targets, which makes it a better choice.

Inversion Reinforcements

For inversion reinforcement, since your abilities are always up, pick value over raw damage. Circulation Tactic adds a pause that isn't needed, which makes the Protistic Recovery System better.

This improvement lets you keep collecting orbs to heal your HP and MP.

Along with stopping enemies, Biodensity Augmentation adds to your HP to help you stay alive.

Adrenaline Rush makes you faster, which works well with your plan to move around. Get all range and skill power boosts to be as effective as possible in The First Descendant.
