The First Descendant Guide | King's Guard Lance Build for Sharen
Here's a guide on how to set up the King's Guard Lance Build for Sharen in The First Descendant.
Game Guide by TauxicPandA on Aug 08, 2025
This guide focuses on building the King's Guard Lance weapon and how you can improve Sharen after the recent update.
The King's Guard Lance's Turret system got a lot better, doing a lot more damage. This makes it a good choice for both Sharen and Serena in the final Void Erosion Purge content in The First Descendant.

King's Guard Lance Changes
Guardian is a unique power on the King's Guard Lance that lets you set up Turrets while aiming down sights. The Turret's damage has increased from 14% to 40% of the weapon's firearm damage in recent patch notes.
Your equipped weapon's damage interval matches the Turret's. This means that increasing the fire rate directly increases the Turret's fire rate, making this number very important for optimization.
You can take care of up to three guns at the same time. Once they are set up, they quickly inflict significant damage in The First Descendant.
You can shoot the current Turrets to make them last longer and cover a wider area. The main plan is to cover enemies with multiple Turrets at once to maximize damage.
King's Guard Lance and Sharen Synergy
The King's Guard Lance and Sharen's Ambush mod work very well together. When you use skills or fire weapons, Ambush gives you a bonus that increases outgoing damage by 100% and the critical hit rate for firearms by 22%.
The Turrets preserve this bonus, which means that each one that is launched keeps the full damage boost and critical hit rate boost for as long as it is active.
With the Ambush mod, you have a chance to become invisible again after taking critical hits.
Because the weapon fires quickly and the gun is always active, you are always invisible. When you deploy a Turret, the stealth return happens right away, which lets you keep getting critical hits in The First Descendant.
Each Turret records both the extra damage and critical hit gain that come from being invisible.
According to the settings for cold damage, foes within range of the Turret are stunned and can't move at all.
This crowd control enables low-level build plans to function by reducing incoming damage.

Sharen Mod Configuration
Focus On Fusion and Focus on Electric can help you cool down. You don't need to be high-ranked for these because you won't be focusing on ability damage.
Battle of Stamina gives you more health points and endurance. Nimble Fingers and MP Conversion both offer more cooldown reduction to make sure that you stay invisible while moving between places.
For better performance, Skill Extension makes abilities last longer. You can use Shot Focus to make your gun attacks stronger, and Walk a Tight Rope to deal more damage when your health is low in The First Descendant.
Since enemies that are invisible or frozen make it hard to take damage, use Conditional Recharge to lower your health while using skills. Spam your paramount ability to reduce your health and get an extra 30% damage from guns.
Boosting Conservation increases the cost of skills, but resource management allows you to use any skill you want.
King's Guard Lance Setup
If you equip Rifle Reinforcement, Action, and Reaction, your gun attacks will be stronger, which will directly increase the damage done by Turrets.
Better Insight and Better Concentration make it easier to get key hits. Since Turrets increase with this stat, fire rate becomes very important.
Chill Enhancement and Chill Priority increase the damage done by cold. Edge of Shot improves critical hit triggering, and Concentration Priority improves firearm critical hits.
As soon as an enemy is defeated, the Sweeping Squad gives you up to 30% more physical damage in The First Descendant.
Keep in mind that Sweeping Squad doesn't work on weapons that have already been set up. If current Turrets kill enemies, only newly placed Turrets get the bonus. Putting up new defenses all the time makes sure that this bonus works.
Several mods don't work right with this weapon. It appears that Super Cooled Plasma, Frigid Burn, and Snowflake Conductor are incompatible with the Turret setup.

Priorities for Weapon Stats
For main stats, fire rate, firearm attack, and chill attack should be given the most weight. For Void Erosion material, add extra damage to darkness.
You should focus your secondary numbers on your firearm attack, firearm critical hit rate, firearm attack against Legion of Darkness, and doing more chill damage.
Alternative Knives Out Build
In the most recent changes, Sharen's area suppression build that uses Knives Out did 36% more damage.
This build makes the most of the time you can be invisible to deal damage and increase your critical hit rate in The First Descendant.
It then uses knife moves to deal area damage. Critical hits that work restart cooldowns, and each critical hit shortens the cooldown for Camouflage by one second.
This starts a loop of Camouflage and knife spam that takes over whole screen areas. The range isn't as good as Bunny, Ines, or Freyna's for clearing, but it does a lot of damage to a single target and has shotgun effects on elites.
Elite battles that happen up-close can do millions of damages each hit.
You can build this version around improving critical hits, since you'll still get 100% critical hits. Bring the Blue Beetle weapon with you to get extra critical hit boosts.
Dangerous Ambush does even more damage, and Maximize Conservation lets you cast abilities as many times as you want, which is excellent for this skill-based playstyle in The First Descendant.
Components and Reactor
Depending on the build path you choose, set up components and reactors in different ways.
Sharen builds that focus on guns require different optimization strategies for their parts compared to builds that focus on skills.
Adjust the Arche Tuning according to whether your Sharen setup focuses on guns or skills.

Inversion Reinforcement
Standard Inversion Reinforcement works better than Strike Point Amplification for the King's Guard Lance.
Even though the base weapon can deal more than one hit, testing has shown that Turrets don't gain from multi-hit bonuses.
Instead, focus on increasing ammunition capacity, as this will reduce the reload time, which is crucial for frequent Turret deployment that requires a lot of ammo in The First Descendant.
