The silly man returns.

Quite a few months have passed by since I last spawned a blog post here. I've had a bunch of ... issues , which have been solved more or less. So , on with the updates.
I decided to change directions in school and switched from the mathematics-informatics profile class to the philology class. It took me two years to realise that maths and informatics wasn't really the thing for me and even if I regred not following a music school of sorts , I figure philology would be the right thing to go with , since I love english more than romanian and since I'm a big history nerd.
I've had the utmost pleasure of seeing a bunch of bands in two major events I will never forget. The first one was , as you people know , AC/DC which put on the best show I've ever seen in my entire life. There were really no flaws to mention. The sound was excellent , I was in the front row of my area (which was Normal Circle , I couldn't afford a Golden Circle ticket , you'll see why) , the opening bands were decent (Down was the first one , southern rock , band led by Phil Anselmo , I reccomend you listen to "Stone the Crow" to get a good taste of what they're playing , Iris came in after , they're a known romanian band I don't fancy much , but they did their job) , the guys in AC/DC had an enourmous ammount of energy and , well the setlist was perfect.
The other big event , was day 2 of the Sonisphere Festival in Bucharest. Now , the thing with this , is that day 2 meant I got to see Anthrax , Megadeth , Slayer and Metallica. What can I say , the names speak for themselves. Anthrax kicked ass , Joey Belladonna was clearly living in the 80s up on that stage. Megadeth surprised me a lot. I was really sceptical towards their performance , but once they started playing , I totally wrecked myself for the duration of their concert. Dave Mustaine is one hell of a guy and they really gave it all. Not to mention the setlist was as good as it could get. Slayer were interesting. I'm not really a fan but they were good and , well , Dave Lombardo might just be the best metal drummer of all time ... I'm just saying. And then came Metallica. I wanted to see these guys live for quite a while now. They're the first metal band I listened to (and liked , to that matter) and well they're pretty darn epic. Their gig was absolutely brilliant. From the first note of Creeping Death to the last note of Seek and Destroy , I constantly sang or headbanged or shouted or whatever. It felt extremely natural , it was like some kind of strange energy exchange and James & co. gave everything out. The Metallica concert alone , was magical , let alone seeing all of these bands in one day on the same stage (while being alone , in the very first row , golden circle). The ticket may have been expensive , but it was worth it (and yes ,the linked band names lead to the setlists of their shows).
Now , I'm looking forward to seeing Iron Maiden on the 15th of August and possibly Ozzy Osbourne on the 2nd of October. Apart from this , I've been getting into a lot of progressive stuff lately and there's one band that I'd like to mention : Porcupine Tree. This band is constantly evolving and adding genres to their repertoire. I'm going to post some links to their songs in the next blog or whatever , but I just felt like pointing out that they're AWESOME and that you should buy their record "Deadwing" .
Gamingwise , my hard drive crashed a few days ago , so I lost most of my saves and I'm pissed because I had just finished Titan Quest and started the Immortal Throne campaign (and now I have to start it over from the very beginning D: ). If there are any TQ players out there that would like to share stories or builds with me , feel free to do so. I'm also getting a new PC later this year and Starcraft 2 , Battlefield Bad Company 2 and Warhammer 40k Dawn of War 2 Chaos Rising. Too bad I can't sell my MW2 copy. I regret buying it.
I've started reading quite a lot lately (and that's because I'm weird , nerdy and a declared introvert). Yesterday I just finished Andrzej Sapkowski's "The Last Wish" . It's a series of short stories related to the witcher Geralt of Rivia. Sapkowski's writing style is very , very good and despite the large quantity of details it was a very easy and pleasant read. I prefer reading books in english rather than romanian , yeah O.o Now , I'll be getting into Dan Abnett's "Horus Rising" , book which talks about the Horus Heresy period in the Warhammer 40k universe. I like the way Chaos is built in the Warhammer universe and I dream of becoming a sorcerer of Tzeentch one day.
Filmwise , I finished watching the first (and apparently the last) season of Flash Forward. Interesting series , I wish they would continue it , especially now when Heroes was cancelled and everything else is getting dull. I'm also watching "A bit of Fry and Laurie" . Classical british comedies ftw! Here's a rather amusing sketch of theirs.
Also , my hair has grown quite a bit.
And , since I know you didn't bother to read all of that and scrolled down as fast as you possibly could , I will do what everyone does these days , ignore the fact that the 20 minutes I lost when writing this were actually lost in vain , and treat you guys and gals with a video which you will most likely find entirely random or even retarded. Here you go.
