Tokyo Game Show 2011 & a second stick!?

Games by RedWolf37 on  Sep 17, 2011

Even though I was somewhat busy working a lot of overtime at my job, but paying close attention to the Tokyo game show.  This year’s Tokyo game show was really stellar I thought.  For a second there I thought all the Square-Enix fans were ready to riot with the announcement of Final Fantasy X HD remake.  You could feel the loom and doom fill the room!  Basically the Final Fantasy VII remake storm cloud still lurks above the companies head.  Next I am probably going to hear, If they can redo X then they can do VII" blah, blah, blah.  Look the point is, one of the greatest Final Fantasies is getting re-done.  Oh I can't wait to see that "HA HA HA!" scene in beautiful high definition!

Wait it gets better, this game is coming to the PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation VITA.  How awesome is that?  But I wonder if Square will do what they did with Final Fantasy XIII and release the game on XBox 360 also?  Multi-platform has been the way to go so everyone enjoys all this great stuff.  Speaking of VITA the system finally has a release date for Dec. 17, 2011 in Japan.  United States won't see it until Jan. 2012.  Wait I am not done yet!  It gets real good.  The PlayStation VITA is going to have really good titles!  Hideo Kojima announced that the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection is also coming to the PlayStation VITA.  But the biggest news for me was the Zone of the Enders HD collection.  That's also going to be on the PlayStation VITA.  Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and Tekken X Street Fighter is also coming to the VITA.  I also saw that Square Enix is thinking outside the box for once when it comes to Kingdom Hearts.  (Don't get all excited it isn’t Kingdom Hearts 3 so just relax.)  Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance is going to feature characters outside of the Disney Final Fantasy universe.  I don't know if anybody remembers The World Ends with you for the Nintendo DS but characters from that game will show up in the new Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance.  Steel Betallion for Kinect on XBox 360 is also looking pretty good too.  But now I want to move on back to Nintendo.

Yes, the big N!!  Not only do you fail to get third party members to make games for the 3DS, but now you're adding a second stick to the 3DS!  When I heard this I swear I kid you not, instant facepalm, They added the second stick to get third party members to make games for their system.  Okay, now I am really, really angry.  I bought the system on launch day because I was wowed when I saw it, but now I have to waste more money on a second stick!?  A little message for you third party developers, quit being LAZY!!!  I personally think the touch screen works good as a second stick.  But developers are now too lazy to develop without it.  Look at all of the shooters that never needed a second stick, games like Golden Eye, Perfect Dark, Doom, Wolfenstein, Resident Evil never needed a second stick until about Resident Evil 4.  There was actually an Resident Evil first person shooter on the PlayStation that didn't need a second stick.  Even the very first Medal of Honor on PlayStation.  So Nintendo, why have you given in to the second stick?  Now you have to make a new 3DS and I am really, really mad.  Not only is the first 3DS going to be big and clunky with the second stick ad on, now people are going to flock to the new system and waste money on it.  Nintendo, you got yourself here in this little hole, trying to play catch up now with the PlayStation VITA around the corner.  Not only is VITA going to have good games, it's going to have a second stick right off the bat, and a touch sensor on the back to make up for extra shoulder buttons.

"I couldn't have said it better myself!"

I am not trying to bash Nintendo, just to go for the record, but I cannot help and notice the many mistakes they have made up to this point, I really wish they would just get their act together.  I hope to see more instant classics in the near future re-mastered in HD.  Nintendo is eventually going to get its act together; it's just not doing it quickly enough.
