There are a lot of open-world games out there, but not many of them stand out before they come out. Ananta has, however, done just that, thanks to a list of big plans that were shown off at the Tokyo Game Show. The videos and reports coming out of the event show that this isn't just another city-based adventure. It feels like every character, encounter, and mechanic was made just for you, which keeps you interested.

One of the most exciting things we’ve learned is the uniqueness of each cast member.

Ananta doesn’t give each main character the same set of tools. Instead, each character has their own set of tools that changes how you interact with the world in a big way. The main character swings through the city with tendrils that look like Venom’s, giving him a way to move around that is similar to comic book heroes.

Taffy rides the strange but fast bunny bike, and Richie, who works for the NCCA, can arrest people and do other police work like breathalyzer tests. Then there’s Seoa, who controls spider drones and is in charge of hacking mechanics that no one else can touch. This choice adds variety and makes switching characters feel like more than just a cosmetic choice. It changes the way you play in a big way.

The variety of skills demonstrates Ananta’s determination to keep the game interesting.

Every character also has some powers in common, like being able to use telekinesis to throw things across the battlefield. This maintains consistency while allowing each character to remain unique.

These layered systems prompt players to consider which character best suits their role-playing style carefully. As Richie, do you want to be the law? As the MC, do you want to swing through skyscrapers? As Seoa, do you want to embrace covert hacking? The answer makes sure that every time you play the game, it will feel different.

There is also confirmation that a female lead character will be included, which puts an end to rumors that she had been cut from the game. It’s still unclear whether players can switch between male and female characters after choosing, but the confirmation puts fans’ minds at ease who were worried about limited customization. The option may determine how connected players feel to their journey, whether they play as themselves or through a particular character.

Ananta’s design gets even more exciting with encounters all over the city.

Reports confirm that the map will feature random encounters with red and blue icons. Red markers show fights with other gangs and factions, which can give you rewards for fighting and throw you off guard. People believe that the blue icons, which remain a mystery, are somehow related to interactions between civilians.

This unpredictability makes the city feel alive, and you can never fully relax as you walk through its many streets. Will your walk to a mission point turn into a gang attack or a civilian asking for help? That stress might be what makes exploring so fun. Travelling around the world also promises a lot of different things. Players can quickly travel from one district to another using the Nova City Metro’s fast travel system, but it comes at a cost. That little thing adds a sense of realism and resource management.

Think about how hard it would be to get to your goal if you were broke and couldn’t afford the metro. There are many ways to get around besides the metro, such as cars, taxis, and even cars that you can buy. Some people even think there will be garages for storing prized cars, which appeals to fans who want to personalize their vehicles. Every decision you make, from saving money for quick trips to building a dream car collection, affects how the city becomes yours.

Travelling and meeting people aren’t the only things that help you build your world. The Codex system will add more depth to the lore and make the game more immersive. This feature keeps track of information about enemies, items, and characters, making each new piece of information a puzzle piece in Ananta's huge story.

The Codex could be a goldmine for lore fans, giving them details about the factions that roam the streets, the artifacts that hint at the city's past, and the characters whose roles may be more important than they seem at first. It turns casual exploration into a story, giving it meaning and making people who are interested want to know more.

Style is also essential, with developers confirming that different stores and brands have different fashion options.

Clothing stores all over Nova City will have various selections, so you won’t have to buy a whole wardrobe that fits everyone. This essential but straightforward choice makes sure that customization goes beyond vehicles and abilities. It also includes how you look in the game world. This system will be a dream for roleplayers because it allows each character to have their own unique identity that fits the story they are telling.

Moving forward in time is also very important. Using an in-game phone app, players can switch between morning, afternoon, and night. The mechanic adds tactical choice and variety to the atmosphere, even though it is similar to things found in gacha and sandbox games. There are even rumors of housing systems that allow you to sleep to move time forward. This would be a great addition for fans of similar systems in games like GTA V. You can change time with a phone or by sleeping in your own apartment, so Nova City will never get old.

These systems, together, show that the game isn’t afraid to get complicated. Ananta’s layered mechanics, which include unique character abilities, limits on fast travel, random encounters, Codex-driven lore, a wide range of fashion options, and time control, promise that no two players will have the same experience.

The city isn’t just a setting; it’s a living, breathing entity that reacts to what you do and what you can’t do.
