Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep awakens September 7

Kingdom Hearts publisher Square Enix announced a North American release for the latest installment in the Disney/Square Enix hybrid series, Birth By Sleep. The game will be available in September 7 for the Playstation Portable.

 

KH: Birth By Sleep will serve as a prequel to the first Kingdom Hearts, released back in 2002. The game will feature three protagonists; Terra, Aqua, and Ven – all keyblade apprentices – who are sent by their master to track down Master Xehanort, a Keyblade Master who has recently disappeared.

 

Birth By Sleep’s core RPG mechanics will stay true to the franchise, with some additional changes on gameplay. Four multiplayer modes (Command Board, Versus, Arena, and Rumble Racing) will also be incorporated in the game, as well as an additional boss encounter in the North American version.

 

Square Enix also said that Birth By Sleep will be included in the “Mystic Silver” PSP bundle, which consists of a 4GB memory stick and a movie. The publisher stated the movie will not be related to the Kingdom Hearts series whatsoever.
