Pokémon Gen 10 Release Date Rumors Spark Debate Among Fans
Rumors outline Pokémon’s roadmap through 2031, including Gen 10, DLC plans, Legends Galar, and even Generation 11 — but credibility is still in question.

There are new Pokémon rumors circulating online claiming to have information about when a bunch of new mainline games and downloadable content will come out over the next 10 years. The information came out on January 21 in a post by an anonymous user with no title or source. Fans and experts alike were shocked when they saw it.
The most important claim concerns Generation 10, which is said to be released on Thursday, November 19, 2026. Mainline Pokémon games usually come out in the middle of November, which makes the date seem likely even though the source doesn't. The Pokémon Company has traditionally liked this time of year for big events.

It's also thought that the public announcement won't give an exact date right away. Instead, the game would likely be announced for "late 2026" during a Pokémon Presents show, with the exact date announced later, as is typical for the franchise's marketing.
Generation 10 and a future packed with DLC.
The report discusses a major DLC plan for Generation 10 that extends beyond the base game. It is said that the first update will be released in July 2027, followed by a second DLC in November 2027. This would be a return to the two-DLC model seen in recent generations, rather than the single-addition model that Legends ZA is said to have used.
A lot of people would like this change. A lot of fans think that two large DLC packs are a better value because they offer longer support after the game comes out and more important content drops. The report aligns with past statements about development, suggesting that DLC is now a normal part of Pokémon's development process.
But there is one catch. The same internal comments that the rumor talks about say that even though DLC is planned for all Pokémon games, it may not always be as good or as big as it could be. If this is true, it might worry fans who thought the last few expansions could have been bigger.
Based on the schedule, 2026 and 2027 would be all about Generation 10, with no major gaps between issues. This goes against what fans have been saying about long breaks between major entries, which has become a hot topic in recent years.
It is rumored that 2028 will not be a busy year for Pokémon. This is where doubt gets stronger, though. A recent gap is thought to have been caused only by delays with Legends Z-A and the changing release date for Nintendo's next system.
At first, Legends ZA was supposed to come out earlier, with DLC following soon after. Nintendo's hardware planning delays seem to have set off a chain reaction that led to an unplanned lull. Because of this, some fans and experts say it's unlikely that there will be another intentional break.
For better or worse, Pokémon has taught its fans to look forward to new things every year. Even though that routine is tough, it's become normal for them, so long breaks feel strange. It's still not clear if the franchise can or should keep up that speed.

The second part of the story goes even further into the future. It says Pokémon Legends: Galar will release in late 2029, with DLC following in mid-2030. If this is true, it means the Legends sub-series will continue to be a mainstay alongside regular generations.
Through the lens of Legends Galar and Gen 11.
It is said that Generation 11 will be released on November 20, 2031. This is probably the most outrageous claim. As usual for Pokémon, the date fits the November launch window. However, making plans that far in advance without any proof makes the information even less reliable.
There are no references to remakes, spin-offs, or side projects in the rumor, which stands out. There is no talk of possible remakes of older generations, nor is there any mention of experimental games or smaller-scale releases. If remakes are planned, the post makes it sound like they would probably be done by someone else, but this is just a guess.
Also, there is no mention of DLC for other known projects or any extra material that isn't on the main roadmap. This strongly suggests that the anonymous post is only interested in core series games, not Pokémon's wider ecosystem.
Still, one thing stands out as pretty safe: big Pokémon releases are still most likely to happen in mid-November. Whether these plans are real or not, fans can still expect new generations to come out just in time for the holidays.
