Game developer Supergiant and Noclip have been documenting the creation, release, and updates of Hades. The company had previously found success with titles like Bastion, Pyre, and Transistor. The studio had setup shop in a modest office space within San Francisco’s Mission area. Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, most of the staff had switched to working from home with only occasional office check-ups.

In June, major protests erupted following the murder of George Floyd, with agitators hijacking the peaceful march into city wide riots and looting. Supergiant’s security cameras caught several vandals breaking into the dormant office space. The culprits stole musical instruments, gear, and other items. Director Amir Rao returned to the office to shoot an announcement for Nintendo, showing off a barricade constructed to prevent more burglaries. Rao further confirmed that others had later attempted to destroy the office’s mail slot.

Despite the hardships, Hades is still on track for its planned PC and Switch release during 2020.
