UTV Ignition Wants Your Art Appreciation
News by Daav Daavpuke on Jun 08, 2011
Hey kids, do you love artsy games? Do you go coo coo for concepts as much as yours truly and do you enjoy things that are not cramming the same old shooter down your throat? Then prepare to meet your maker; your video game maker. To be precise, it will be your video game provider; as UTV Ignition seems hell-bent in taking the concept flag for the masses awaiting cult games.

AAAAART! The dude has a circle for a face; take that cynical movie critics!
First off, El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron is finally releasing to us non-Japanese folks and that as soon as June 26 and somewhat later for us unlucky Euro-gents. I’m pretty sure I can’t describe this game properly, but I can say it’s pretty damned mind-blowing. If you do not know what this fighting action game is about, you haven’t been following our Youtube channel where I’ve been launching tons of media, so shame on you. Just for you stragglers, I’ll put down the trailer here again.
But there’s a more important reason I’m mentioning El Shaddai, apart from my fanboy-like status towards concept games. A demo is now available for both Xbox and PS3, without the need for a Japanese account or the ability to fathom the language. I suggest you hop to it.
Furthermore, UTV will be partnering with one of my favorite artsy fellows down at VanillaWare from Odin Sphere fame. While making Grand Knights History, they’re also currently looking into creating new content for freshly dubbed PS Vita and Playstation 3, with title Dragon’s Crown.

Orcs don't know about my huge assets.
This online co-op brawler is much what I imagine a game like Golden axe or another classic 2D sidescroller would be like if made in 2011 by tha masters of hand-drawn animations. And I know it looks just as similar as all previous games, but it’s a trendy unique look at that and the co-op dungeon crawling is a new twist. And did I mention interoperable functionality with the new Sony handheld?
More trailers are afoot from this game as well. It does warn the squeamish kids to look away, due to some inappropriate content. I think they’re referring to the downright pornographic look of some of the lady parts from Dragon’s Crown. Call me perverted, but an over-the-top amazon with an ‘asset’ twice the size of her face might be a tad racy. You youngins best be prepared to have your testicles drop.
A big high five goes out to UTV Ignition for this titillating content, no pun intended or anything.
