Say hi to the newest juicy installment to one of the best FPS franchise ever created, Call of Duty. The first game started off with the setting of World War II, one of the topics I like best, and it slowly progresses to the war in the future, well maybe not but the current guns and equipments are high-tech. So here is my review on the newest installment named Modern Warfare 2, MW2 for short.
GAMEPLAY
New weapons, continued storyline from the first Modern Warfare game and new characters introduced. There are a lot of things to talk about in the gameplay but I shall start off with the Singleplayer. Yes, it's short which I completed in around 3 hours but the storyline is still as good as the first game, or maybe even better, kudos to a great job done by Infinity Ward once again. I like how IW makes fans of the franchise excited and stuffs, they didn't fully complete the ending which when I heard, would be sucky, but when I got my copy and finished the game, I wasn't the least bit disappointed at all. The ending was good, making players know that there'll be a Modern Warfare 3 and keep them playing the series. From being sneaky in stealth campaigns to fighting for the White House in the U.S., the storyline is indeed complicating but once you get it figured out while checking for comments on the internet, you'll like how the plot twists most of the time. I shall not spoil you guys if not you all will hate me for ruining the game. Heading on to the multiplayer, same old thing, level up, get new weapons and attachments. A few things have changed however, you get to have callsigns to describe your attitude and power when playing online. You get new callsigns as you progress further when playing online. You can also unlock killstreak rewards and place 3 of them anyhow you like, as you get the designated killstreaks, you will be able to use them in-game and own other players playing with you. But one thing is that it's easy to end your life before you can get and use them, it's the fast drawing of knife that I hate, completely unrealistic to me but no worries, the game is still good. New challenges were also introduced, you get to level up quicker because most of them are possible and easy to do. A new thing for Singleplayer is breaching, basically you just need to set up a explosive behind a surface and once it goes off, you enter a slow-motion mode and kill the enemies in the room which is just awesome! A new mode named Spec Ops is also introduced into the game, it's just extra content that features stealth, sniping, accuracy and what you have learnt through the game. You can choose to play alone or with another player, best is to play with a close friend. By far, this game isn't the least bit bad at all, my money spent was worth it.
GRAPHICS
Improved juicy and beautiful graphics, lighting is a lot better, character designs are awesome, texture quality of the environment and reflections are just awesome. It lagged me at times but not often, seeing such a game with such graphics just enlightens me. Explosion effects are cool, shadows are very well done and character interactions are extremely awesome. Voice acting are great too, not sure how to put it but just get the game and play it!
SOUNDS
Aw man, I have been waiting on this, the music is purely epic, Hans Zimmer was the right choice for war music. Gun sounds are perfect and there are hardly any factual errors in the game. However, some music are repeated in the campaigns a few times but it suits the scenario during a happening in any part of the game so it's not gonna stop me from giving a full 5 for this section.
DIFFICULTY
This game isn't really hard at all, unless you are playing on Veteran difficulty, the game becomes extremely realistic. You can die just after 2 shots or a melee attack from the enemy. For multiplayer, it's only counted hard if you meet pros like snipers who can do a quick scope and snipe you quickly or sneaky players who just comes up behind you and melee you from the back. In overall, this game is perfect, not hard and not too easy either.
