In Arknights: Endfield, enemies become easier to kill when you lower your level, but keep in mind that the gears you find aren't as good, and rare minerals respawn more slowly.

Adjusting the Difficulty
To change the difficulty, open your main menu. Look for your World Exploration Level display. This number usually goes up on its own as you finish big story missions.
If you click the icon on the far left of this display, a menu will pop up that allows you to lower your level by one. For example, if you are at level three and things are too hard, you can drop it down to level two to make the enemies weaker.
Time Limits and Resetting
There are a few rules to remember when changing your level. You can only lower your World Exploration Level once every 24 hours in Arknights: Endfield.
If you move it down and then realize you want better rewards again, you can reset it to your highest level whenever you want. However, once you reset it back to the higher level, you have to wait another full day before you are allowed to lower it again.

Why Level Matters
The World Exploration Level affects almost everything you see outside of your base. Higher levels mean tougher enemies, but they also mean better loot and more frequent spawns for rare plants and ores.
It is usually best to stay at the highest level possible to get the best gear. Only lower the level if you are truly stuck on a fight and just want to progress the story in Arknights: Endfield.
