After establishing your base in God Save Birmingham, the next big stop is the forge in the heart of the city, where you'll find a complete set of steel armor waiting for you. This guide will explain how to prepare for the trip and how to arrive safely.

Packing Light

Prior to leaving, remove as much gear as possible from your pack and store it in a safe place, leaving only food in your pack. It's important to be free of any encumbrances for the battle to come, so don't skip this step, even if it means leaving behind some useful items for now. When you're ready to leave, close your house and wash off and refill with water if necessary on the well on your way out.

Finding the Route and the Billhook

Look on your map for the forge, located in the middle of town. You will encounter a house with zombies around it that has a Billhook, a long pole weapon with a cutting end on it, along the way. If you're willing to make the detour, it's a good choice for the battle to come, but if you prefer to keep your spear and sword, it's not required.

Clearing the Road

Do not sneak past zombies, kill them. It takes longer to set up, but it makes the return trip home much easier when you're carrying armor, because you won't be having to fight your way back through a full road of enemies while carrying armor.
