The Bow is a pierce weapon in Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection that uses a unique Charge Gauge system. Unlike other weapons, its power comes from Coatings.

Different Bows allow you to use various Coatings, and how well they work depends on your charge level. You must equip a Coating to use its effects, which then starts building up your charge. If you switch to a different Coating, your charge will reset.

Boosting Potency and Accuracy

A higher charge level makes your Coatings better by increasing their activation chance or making their effects stronger. You can use a Power Coating to simply deal more damage, with the boost getting bigger as you charge up.
