Here’s a guide on how to use the Hammer in Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection.

The Hammer is a blunt weapon that specializes in pure power and crowd control. It is the best tool for interacting with the Wyvern Soul gauge, which is a meter found under an enemy's health bar.

When you empty this gauge on weaker monsters, they fall into a Topple state. This lets you perform a Synchro Rush or land guaranteed critical hits while the enemy loses its turn. Larger monsters might need you to drain the bar several times to get a full knockdown.

Mastering Wyvern Fell Damage

Every time you drain a segment of a large monster's gauge in Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection, it will flinch. This cancels their move and puts them in a Fatigue state, causing their accuracy to drop so they miss most attacks.

The Hammer is unique because its basic attacks naturally deal Wyvern Fell damage, which is the specific stat used to deplete the Wyvern Soul gauge. While other weapons have to use skills to deal this type of damage, the Hammer does it with every swing.

Stamina Management and Power Attacks

This weapon uses a lot of Stamina, but it offers different ways to fight. One style involves using skills that get stronger every time you use them in a row in Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection.

You can build up your Stamina and then chain these attacks together for massive damage over several turns.

Alternatively, you can save up for high-cost burst skills. For example, some moves cost 72 Stamina but hit with 140 Power. When you run out of Stamina, your enhanced basic attacks still help you contribute by draining the enemy's gauge.
