You will encounter a locked wooden door right outside the main gate of the Outpost in Weeping Creek Valley during Chapter 1, Against the Flow.

Speak to the guards posted at the front entrance of the Outpost. They will warn you about heading toward Pangzhen, but they will unlock the gates and allow you inside.

Head straight through the compound until a story scene plays with Forge, the blacksmith who handles your equipment upgrades. Once the conversation ends, locate the Outpost Bell resting near her workspace.

Look past the bell. The wooden bridge on the left is blocked, so take the stone stairs leading up on the right.

At the top of the stairs, the road splits in two directions. The left path pushes forward into the main questline, while the right path leads into a dead-end yard.

Turn right into the small courtyard. Look for a corpse lying on the ground surrounded by glowing orange item drops. In Phantom Blade Zero, grab the loot to get x2 Darkfire Charcoal, x2 Solvent, x441 Remnant Dust, and the Cell Key.

Using the Key

Once you have the key in your inventory, backtrack down the stairs and head all the way back to the front entrance of the Outpost.

Use the Cell Key on the barred door just to the left of the main gate. Inside the small chamber, you can pick up a Blackstone Fragment. Collecting four of these fragments permanently raises your attack power and guard break efficiency by 10%.
