Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Guide | How to Get Both Koraidon and Miraidon Without Friends
Catch your second legendary in Area Zero, then use Link Trade codes to swap for the other version.
Game Guide by Monarch on Mar 02, 2026
It sounds like you need friends to get both famous mounts, but you don't. You can do it by yourself if you first catch the extra legendary in The Great Crater of Paldea and then use the Poké Portal and Link Trade codes to find someone who is selling the other version. This only works after the main story, so finishing the game and getting to the late-game area should be your first goal.
Catch The Second Legendary In Area Zero
Start by going to The Great Crater of Paldea and head to the entrance of the Time Machine in the late game. If you cannot access this, complete the story and wait until the credits roll. Inside the crater, follow the path toward the platform area where the second legendary appears. If you are on Pokémon Violet, you will find a second Miraidon.
If you are on Pokémon Scarlet, you will find a second Koraidon. Catch it so you have one you can safely trade, since your legendary ride is not the one you want to give away.

Open Poké Portal And Use Link Trade
After you catch the second legendary, leave The Great Crater of Paldea and open the Poké Portal. Go to Link Trade, then enter a trade code so you can search for other players swapping these legendaries. The code is based on their Paldea Pokédex numbers. Miraidon is #400, and Koraidon is #399. Since codes use four digits, you use 0400 and 0399.
Use The Best Trade Code For Matching
The most practical code to use is 0400 0399. This pairs Miraidon and Koraidon into a single code, helping you match with someone looking for the opposite version. If you do not find the right trade partner, keep trying. If you match with someone offering the same legendary you are offering, back out and search again.
You can also flip the code sometimes, but 0400 0399 is the main one to stick with.

Confirm The Trade And Get The Other Legendary
Once you match with someone trading the version you need, confirm the trade and swap your extra legendary. After the trade finishes, you will now have both Koraidon and Miraidon on the same save file, without needing anyone you know to help.

If it takes a while to match, it usually improves when more players are online, so repeated searches can be the difference.
