The Undead Spade is unlocked by studying the Rotten Farming Tool Vestige in RuneScape: Dragonwilds. It has a 1-in-20, or 5%, chance of appearing from Fellhollow Buried Chests, so completing a full chest route gives you the best opportunity to farm repeated attempts. Bring any Spade before starting.

Start at Witchwillow Range

Begin in Witchwillow Range. Follow the western trail beside the Wither Rot until you reach a Buried Chest against the rock wall. From there, travel southwest, pass the waterway, and check along the next wall for the second chest.

Search Emberwood and Dragon's Run

Move toward the Emberwood cemetery for the third chest near its entrance. The fourth is inside a nearby cave west of Emberwood, where hostile wolves may be waiting.

Continue to the rear of Emberwood Village for the fifth chest. Then travel past Dragon's Run and search beneath the stone archway along the route for the sixth.

Clear Bleakfields Valley and Hope's Fall

Return toward Bleakfields Valley and locate the three-way trail split facing Imaru's Tower. One chest is beneath a nearby tree. Continue north into Hope's Fall for another, then travel east around Imaru's Tower to locate the next Buried Chest. Watch your Withering exposure while moving through this area.

Finish at the Lake and Silverthorn Keep

At the Lake of Lost Souls, search the shoreline west of the waterfall, then head northeast toward the nearby ruins. Cross around the lake to another chest beside a large structure before continuing into Coalridge Pass, where another is hidden in an alcove near a Zogre spawn.

Travel next to Silverthorn Keep. One chest sits inside the courtyard after turning left from the main entrance. Continue south from the Keep to the structure guarded by a Necromancer and undead enemies, then finish the route near the defensive wall and enemy-filled entryway.

Study the Rotten Farming Tool when it drops. The Undead Spade can then be crafted at a Blacksmith's Bench using 4 Steel Bars, 4 Undead Bones, 2 Willow Logs, and 2 Draconic Leather.

After farming the Fellhollow Buried Chests and obtaining the Rotten Farming Tool, study the Vestige to unlock the Undead Spade recipe.
