Here’s a guide on how to improve your runs

No matter your starting point, a bit of planning and curiosity goes a long way. Ready to dive in? Let’s see how far you can go, one run at a time.
Master Your Traveler
It’s fun to try out every character, but you’ll get the most out of the game by picking one and really getting to know them. Spend some time learning their best builds, how their skills work together, and the little details that make them unique. The better you know your chosen character, the more runs you’ll win.
Clear Every Room in the First Biome
When you start a new run, focus on picking up as many upgrades, Gold, and Dream Dust as you can. Don’t worry about fighting the Hunters or the boss right away—take your time exploring every room to grab all the goodies.
After the first boss, enemies get tougher, so it’s best to collect resources early. Make sure to check out the shops for cool skills and passives that can boost your build.

Run With Purpose
Every run can be different in Shape of Dreams, so it helps to have a little goal in mind before you begin. Maybe you want to finally beat the final boss, unlock a new character, or just stock up on Stardust for some upgrades.
If you’re new, don’t stress about winning right away—spend a few runs just focusing on collecting Stardust to unlock those helpful permanent upgrades. Keep an eye out for the lizard merchant and try grabbing the Star Seeker’s Journal; it’ll point you to a room full of Stardust to help you on your journey.
Learn the Game with Vesper
If you’re new, try learning the ropes with Vesper. He’s got great defense and healing, which makes him one of the most forgiving characters. While he’s not the fastest, his strengths will help you get used to the game’s pace, and his healing makes him a good pick for unlocking one of the sealed characters.
Don’t be afraid to swap out his ultimate for a quicker or more defensive skill if you want—play around and see what works for you.
Reset Your Basic Attacks
To deal more damage, try mixing your abilities in between basic attacks. This trick—called auto-attack resetting—lets you skip the wait time after an attack by using a skill right away. It’s super helpful for Vesper, who attacks slowly, and is also great for Lacerta, since she relies on basic attacks a lot.
Sell or Dismantle Unwanted Items
Keeping a healthy stash of Gold and Dream Dust is important if you want to get stronger. If you pick up a skill or passive you don’t need, go ahead and dismantle or sell it—there’s no point hanging on to something you won’t use. Sometimes you can’t sell everything because of limited slots, so just make the most of what you find.
Concentrate Your Upgrades
It’s usually better to upgrade one skill to a high level instead of spreading your Dream Dust across lots of different skills. Getting your main ability to level nine can make a huge difference. Of course, if you find a few really strong skills, it’s okay to upgrade them too—just follow what feels right for your build.
Fight the Hunters
If you’ve got a skill that gets stronger with each kill, like Butcher, you might want to farm Hunters instead of avoiding them. They show up in big groups, so it’s a good way to rack up stacks. Just be careful not to overdo it—Hunters get tougher as you go, and taking on too many at once can end your run quickly.
Balance Your Skills
Having lots of damage skills can be tempting, but it might cause problems later on. Make sure to include at least one defensive skill in your setup. Some skills even let you deal damage and heal at the same time—keep an eye out for those!

Upgrade Your Economy First
When you’re picking Constellation passives, go for ones that help you earn more Gold and Dream Dust or let you reroll rewards. These are super useful because most of your power comes from the skills and items you pick up during your run. Building a strong economy means you don’t have to rely as much on luck.
Take Things Slow
Winning in Shape of Dreams takes both strategy and skill. Don’t rush into big groups of enemies—think about how you want to approach each fight so you can win without getting hurt.
Every character has their own strengths: Shell is great at hit-and-run moves, while Vesper can handle things head-on. Play to your character’s strengths, and you’ll see better results.
