The Vanguard Shield can drop as an Exquisite item during the Wyrdness, but buying it is a much easier way to get it. This shield is great for combat because it raises your Max Stamina by 10 and boosts your Physical Damage by 10%.

Buying From Merchant

You have to be in Act 2 of Cuanacht to get this item. The easiest way to get there is to teleport to the Farmlands. You must finish the Change of Heart quest to make the NPC named Beor available as a merchant.

You might also need to finish the mission called The Heart That Defies. Once these tasks are done, cross the bridge and head through the doors to find his shop in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon.

Purchasing the Shield

When you reach Beor, speak with him to see his inventory. The Vanguard Shield should be listed among his available items.

Simply buy it to equip it. If the shield does not appear in his stock, you likely already have it in your possession. Using this shop saves you from waiting for a lucky drop during the night.
