Tales of Arise Guide | Unlock the Raging Current Trophy
Here's a guide on how to unlock the raging current trophy
Game Guide by Imdeadfrfr on May 31, 2026
The late-game ecosystem of Tales of Arise has a very steep progression curve that goes well beyond the linear limits of the main story. Once players manage to topple the five oppressive Renan Lords and see the physical appearance of the catastrophic structure called the Wedge, the world map of Dahna changes permanently.
This cataclysmic event releases ancient, hyper-concentrated stores of elemental astral energy throughout various hidden pockets of the world, resulting in the emergence of terrifyingly powerful creatures known as the Five Lights.

In the main story, you face one called Efreet Malum who is fiery, but the rest of the four elemental titans are hidden in obscure side-quests that will really test your combat skills to the limit. Anyone aiming for complete mastery of the game must hunt these elusive optional giants, with every cataclysmic encounter awarding players with dedicated silver accolades.
Amongst these post-wedge trials, in the watery deeps of the Ganath Haros region, lies one of the most mechanically punishing multi-phase battles in the entire campaign. To earn the coveted Raging Current trophy, your party must brave a subterranean maze, endure a brutal test of attrition, and permanently dissolve the massive gel-based elemental monster known as Luo Undine.
This guide will take a detailed look at everything you need to know to find this hidden dungeon, properly manage your party’s resources, and survive the brutal aquatic assault.
Finding the Old Fishing Fan in Thistlym
You must fulfill certain narrative and social prerequisites before you can even glimpse the watery depths of the cavern to start the accompanying sub-quest. This trophy’s mission is called Untamable Rage and it becomes available in the last acts of the campaign, after your party has successfully made it through the dangerous Forland Mountains and established a strong base of operations in the late-game world.
Once this level of global progression is unlocked, you must fast travel back to the coastal village of Thistlym. This is a peaceful settlement within the tropical realm of Ganath Haros. Once you arrive at Thistlym, leave the main road and head over to the lovely wooden viewing platforms that are actually built right along the cliffs overlooking the ocean.
Go to the rocky cliff and get close to the edge. You will find an older, white-haired non-playable character that is officially called the Elderly Fishing Fan. Speaking to this person will trigger a special dialogue sequence in which he colorfully complains that he's unable to reach a legendary fishing spot because of a sudden, very aggressive surge of hyper-violent water zeugles deep in the local cavern systems.
Completing his desperate request to clear out the infestation will add the Untamable Rage sub-quest to your active journal, and will prepare you for your trip underground. The quest may not be immediately available, you may just need to advance your fishing collection a little to catch the old salt's eye.
Through the Depths of the Caverns
The hunt has been officially sanctioned now, so you will need to take your party to the entrance of the hidden underground network. Open your map interface and fast travel to the southern campsite inside the Shinefall Woods, a dense forest zone next to Thistlym. At this resting place, run straight south to the giant, untouched lake that lines the edge of the wilderness map.
To cross the loading threshold of the Fogwharl Limestone Caverns, you must submerge into the cool water and swim through a tight opening in the rocks, half above water, half below. The interior of this optional dungeon is a huge bump in the overall environmental difficulty compared to standard story zones, populated by very aggressive, high-level phantom enemies and dense groups of toxic slimes.
The other monsters that haunt these dark, dank hallways are level fifty-four, so if you go into this dungeon too early, your party can get wiped out quickly and frustratingly. It is highly recommended that your active party be at least level fifty-five when you try to reach the end of the caverns.
Investigate the winding shallow tunnels and main stone rooms for precious treasure chests, but make sure to focus on gradually making your way to the deepest corners underground. Fortunately, the game gives you an important safety net just before the final battle.
When you get to the entrance to the Inner Sanctum there is a hidden, glowing Sanctuary campsite with a fully stocked inventory merchant. This resting point is an absolute lifesaver to be used to the fullest extent. Rest for a moment. This will restore your party's hit points and shared Cure Point pool for free.
Head over to the nearby merchant and angrily dump your Gald into high-tier restoration consumables, having a maximum capacity stack of Life Bottles, Lemon Gels, Pineapple Gels, and a few Elixirs to keep your team alive through the brutal war of attrition just beyond the stone archway.
The First Trial: Surviving the Undine Dive
Once you cross the last campsite threshold and step into the flooded heart of the Inner Sanctum, a tense cinematic sequence will trigger instantly, starting a very one-of-a-kind, back-to-back boss fight. The elemental titan does not immediately face you in battle in its true form, but rather your party is first confronted by its thick preliminary form, the Undine Drop.
This level sixty boss appears to be a giant blue amorphous sludge beast with a huge physical health bar and an incredibly frustrating combat loop that involves staggering amounts of crowd control. The absolute primary challenge in this opening phase is the boss's ability to infinitely and continuously summon smaller, highly aggressive slime minions onto the battlefield.
These smaller slimes will quickly surround your party, spewing streams of toxic green sludge that leave dangerous puddles on the stone floor. If you step in these green pools, you'll quickly gain the poison status condition. This will cause your characters' health bars to silently bleed out and will drastically drain your healer's precious Cure Point pool.
To survive this chaotic opening skirmish, you need to fully resist the alluring urge to squander your heaviest artes trying to eradicate the smaller slimes. The Undine Drop will simply call forth an identical replacement squad the instant the field is cleared. Instead, take a disciplined approach, and maintain direct, constant offensive pressure on the main boss itself, while ordering your computer-controlled melee fighters to play defense.

Have your main damage dealers do fast aerial combos mid-air against the upper body of the Undine Drop, a great defensive move that keeps your characters physically elevated to safety above the toxic green sludge pools and sweeping ground-level physical attacks.
The Real Horror: The Killing of Luo Undine
You will see the battlefield dramatically and terrifyingly change the moment you manage to drop the massive health pool of the Undine Drop, instead of a victory screen. The collapsing sludge beast will let out an oppressive, bubbling roar, violently expanding its gelatinous form to rapidly absorb all remaining small slime minions on the field into its own body.
It’s a grotesquely fused process, but it marks the official start of the real boss fight against the giant elemental titan, Luo Undine. Luo Undine is a bloated behemoth of its predecessor and its size in and of itself makes it a very dangerous target. The annoying infinite minion spawns are mercifully gone, but the boss makes up for this by getting a huge boost to its raw physical attack power, defensive attributes, and elemental spellcasting abilities.
Its main weakness is its vulnerability to fire-based attacks, and a critical structural weak point is a brightly glowing orange spirit core located deep within its massive, gaping mouth. Target this mouth core to deal massive amounts of bonus damage, but know that it is a very risky endeavor for close-quarters melee fighters.
Luo Undine is also prone to sudden, unpredictable forward biting maneuvers as well as powerful streams of pressurized water that it will unleash from its mouth that will instantly flatten anyone standing directly in front of its face. A safer and more consistent approach is to place your primary character slightly off-center, or directly behind the creature’s massive, gelatinous flanks.
From this relative safety, you can comfortably chip away at its health while remaining perfectly poised to execute a sideways dodge roll the instant the boss leaps high into the air to perform its signature, screen-shaking body press attack.
Battle Tactics and Party Roles
To defeat a mighty elemental power like Luo Undine, you must make the most of your whole party's special utility skills and Boost Attacks. Rinwell is the complete mechanical linchpin of this whole engagement. The boss is a pure expression of water astral energy, and will constantly try to cast huge, high-tier water spells like Tidal Wave that can instantly cover the entire arena and vaporize your whole party in one hit.
You need to keep an eye on the casting circles that pop up around the boss. As soon as you see it trying to cast a spell, hit the button to trigger Rinwell's Boost Attack. Rinwell will immediately take the boss's active casting energy, nullifying the deadly water spell, and bolstering her own magical attacks with a huge counter-strike.
At the same time, you need to be able to carefully use Alphen’s Boost Gauge to open up long-term opportunities to attack. Alphen's iron strikes have a fire attribute, making it so you can be guaranteed to knock down any giant beast, giving your melee fighters a long, completely safe window to throw out their heaviest fire-attributed artes like Crimson Flare or Infernal Torrent.
Shionne should be configured to a strictly supportive AI preset and placed on the very outer edge of the arena, so that she can only cast high-level healing spells such as Resurrection and Revivify to keep the party’s health thresholds high. When your boss goes into its unstoppable crimson Overlimit state, your entire team must immediately switch to a passive defensive strategy.
Just focus on manual dodging until the glowing aura burns out on its own. Don't let your AI companions run blindly into the danger zones and waste precious Life Bottles.

Victory Fruits and Legendary Rewards
Keep a disciplined defensive pace, always use Rinwell to break the boss’s high-level spellcasting, and take advantage of Alphen’s fire-infused knockdowns to steadily deplete Luo Undine’s massive health bar until the physical form completely ruptures. The second that massive elemental beast turns into a harmless puddle of transparent water, the prestigious silver Raging Current trophy will pop immediately in the corner of your screen, signifying the successful completion of one of the most punishing optional encounters in the post-wedge campaign.
The immediate in-game rewards for this hard-fought victory are extremely lucrative and permanently alter your progression. The cavern is cleared permanently, opening the path to the legendary hidden fishing spot the beast was blocking, and players can open a nearby treasure chest containing the ultra-rare Zapie Doppelganger lure, needed to catch the massive boss fish known as the Cygni Pirarucu.
Also, fast-travel back to Thistlym and report your success to the Elderly Fishing Fan to successfully close out the Untamable Rage sub-quest. Your monumental efforts will earn your party a massive bounty of thirty-six thousand eight hundred Gald and the unique Sushi Recipe for powerful post-battle experience point boosts.
You will also be gifted the legendary artifact Golden Lucky Cat Statue, which permanently and passively increases all Skill Point gains in the future for your whole roster, as well as the rare book weapon Burning Blood for Rinwell. This intense aquatic showdown will give you a deep mechanical understanding, and your fully upgraded party will be ready to march on and conquer the remaining legendary challenges across the changing landscapes of Dahna.
