The Police Station is one of the first locations you’ll encounter in The Outlast Trials. The map takes place primarily inside a large police precinct, extending to the streets and storefronts surrounding it.

This guide will walk you through each section of the map, explain the main mission Kill The Snitch. You’ll also learn how to progress through the key objectives and deal with the different threats and environments found throughout the station.

Layout of the Police Station

The Police Station map is divided into three main sections: the Main Office, the Back Offices, and the Underground Parking Lot. The Kill The Snitch mission will take you through each of these areas in sequence, starting from the Main Office, moving down into the Parking Lot, and finishing in the Back Offices.

The Main Office contains open areas with multiple desks where you can hide and use the layout to create distance from enemies.

The Underground Parking Lot is darker and more confined, with several tight spaces, environmental traps, and small rooms that can restrict movement.

The Back Offices are more spacious and better lit but include complex pathways and open zones that make it easier for enemies to spot you.

Main Mission: Kill The Snitch

The Kill The Snitch mission follows your progress as you infiltrate the precinct, locate a snitch attempting to expose Murkoff’s activities, and eliminate him. The objective changes three times as you move through the Main Office, Underground Parking Lot, and Back Offices.

You begin by infiltrating the Police Station and moving through the Main Office to unlock the holding cells. You can reach this point in two ways: either by boosting a teammate over a boarded wall labeled Quick Access – Security Room and having them open the barred door from the other side, or by taking the longer route around the back of the building to reach the same location.

After entering the next area, you’ll find four chute doors leading into a safe room containing a button. Once all players are inside, press the button to unlock the holding cells and trigger an interaction with Leland Coyle, the main antagonist of this mission.

When the interaction ends, the holding cells will open. Move inside and approach the first door on your left to locate The Snitch. Push him out of his cell to continue. At this point, Leland Coyle will disable the generators in the Parking Lot, requiring you to leave The Snitch and proceed toward the parking entrance located north of the holding cells.

Lift the shutter to access the Underground Parking Lot, where the area will be mostly dark. Activate your night vision and begin searching for Generators and Gasoline Cans.

During this part, Leland Coyle will reappear alongside other threats such as Pouncers, Screamers, and Pushers.

Your task here is to locate every Generator, refuel them with gasoline, and activate them. Each Generator requires you to complete three mini-games. The first two are panel puzzles located on either side of the generator.

You must turn all red lights green by pressing the buttons in the correct sequence. The yellow lights in the middle indicate how many presses you can make before the circuit resets.

Focus on the red buttons that activate two green lights per press to complete the puzzle quickly.

After refueling, interact with the front of the Generator to start the chord-pulling sequence. Wait for the meter’s line to align with the yellow or green zones, then pull the chord by clicking the left mouse button.

Repeat this process until the Generator successfully powers up.

Once all generators are activated, return through the shutter you entered from and make your way back to The Snitch. Push him further toward the locked shutter that leads to the Back Offices.

A TV screen next to this area will show a symbol indicating which Key you need. The Key you receive is randomized each time you play.

To locate this Key, enter the yellow door to the left of The Snitch and search for a body sitting against a wall. Interact with the corpse to retrieve the Key, then return to the blue box beside The Snitch and unlock it to open access to the Back Offices.

Progressing Through the Back Offices

You need to find three keys in the back offices so that you can open three doors that block The Snitch's way to the electric chair. First, look at each locked shutter and the TV screens next to them to figure out which keys are needed.

Symbols like the Crown, Moon, or Diamond can be used in these.

Next, search the area for police corpses and examine them for tattoos matching the symbols from the shutters. You’ll encounter enemies here, including a Large Grunt, a Standard Grunt, and returning threats like Pushers, Screamers, and Pouncers.

Once you have collected all three Keys, unlock the corresponding shutters.

When the path is clear, return to The Snitch and push him through the Back Offices toward the Electric Chair at the end of the route. Once he is secured in the chair, panels will activate in each corner of the room.

You must hold these panels down simultaneously to electrocute The Snitch. The electrocution process accelerates as more panels are held at once, and you can monitor his status using the percentage indicators on the surrounding screens.

During this stage, Leland Coyle will return once again, making it harder to keep all panels active. The most effective strategy is to have one teammate lure Leland away from the execution room while others remain on the panels to continue the process.

When The Snitch is dead, the mission will prompt you to escape.

Head back to the entrance and press the button to call for extraction. A Large Grunt will likely patrol the exit area. Draw the enemy away from the door, then proceed to the shuttle to officially complete the trial.
