You can get a variety of upgrades called Prescriptions in The Outlast Trials. These are your first way to make your character better. After you finish any trial, you can buy these boosts from the Nurse at the Reception Desk, which is right next to the door to the Lobby.

There are two levels of prescriptions, and each level gives you new skills and changes that affect how well you survive and move around during trials.

Understanding Prescription Tiers

When you first unlock Prescriptions, you’ll start with Tier 1, which is immediately available for purchase. Each upgrade within this tier costs 1 green voucher. Once every upgrade in Tier 1 has been obtained, Tier 2 becomes available. The upgrades in Tier 2 cost 2 green vouchers each.

Below is a breakdown of all available upgrades across both tiers and the effects they provide.

Prescription Tier 1

In Tier 1, you can select from several foundational upgrades designed to modify how you interact with the environment and manage survival situations.

Instant Use: If you aim at anything and hold down the left mouse button, you may utilize it right away instead of adding it to your collection.

Slide: You can do a slide by hitting the crouch button while you're moving.

Regeneration: Your health will recover slightly after a short delay.

Self Defense Technique: You can use a bottle or brick from your inventory to quickly break free when a pouncer attacks.

Kick to Help: You can kick an enemy that is holding one of your allies.

Life Saver: You can interrupt an enemy’s execution attempt on your teammate by kicking them.

Run and Smash Doors: While running, you can instantly open doors. Locked doors will be damaged but not broken through completely.

Prescription Tier 2

After unlocking all Tier 1 upgrades, Tier 2 becomes available. These upgrades enhance your stamina, speed, and utility during trials.

Expanded Inventory: Your inventory capacity increases to a total of four slots.

Doors Basher: Locked doors can be broken open with only two hits.

Breaching Technique: Bashing doors no longer uses stamina.

Speed Boost: Your running speed increases.

Endurance: Stamina consumption while running is reduced.

Athlete: Your maximum stamina capacity increases.

Parkour Technique: Jumping and climbing actions require less stamina.

Battery Extension: The duration of your night vision battery is extended.

Heavy Training: Your movement speed increases when carrying large objects.

With these Prescriptions, you can slowly make your Reagent stronger and make it work better in both solo and group trials. Each improvement gives you a different set of useful benefits that can change how you move around, fight enemies, and help your friends.
