A guide on description of all types of upgrades in The Outlast Trials.
Game Guide by Groot on Nov 02, 2025
During The Outlast Trials, you will be able to get a variety of upgrades that will help you stay alive and deal with Murkoff's different risks. These changes give you the tools you need to run the organization's studies, and they also give your Reagent better powers and lasting improvements that make it stronger.

You will find that progression plays an important role, as your character’s development directly affects how you can overcome enemies and traps found throughout the trials.
Overview of Upgrades
Throughout your time in the trials, you will be able to obtain several types of upgrades. Some of these are RIG powers, which can help in battle by stunning foes or healing friends, and prescriptions, which give your Reagent long-lasting benefits. Every one of these features makes your Reagent a better test subject, better able to handle each mission's growing challenge.
To acquire these upgrades, you must use Green Vouchers, a form of currency earned as you level up your character. Each upgrade requires a certain number of vouchers, meaning progression and experience are necessary to unlock new tiers.

Types of Upgrades
At the moment, The Outlast Trials has three main types of upgrades: rigs, prescriptions, and amplifiers. Each one does something different and helps with a different part of the game.
Rigs allow you to activate special abilities that can turn the tide in challenging encounters. For example, some may let you stun approaching enemies, while others can restore your teammates’ health.
Prescriptions focus on providing your Reagent with permanent stat boosts or new capabilities, improving overall performance across all trials.

Amps are upgrades that change and improve the way functions work, making your character even more effective.
You can change the way you play based on how you want to deal with Murkoff's tests by mixing and improving these methods. You can access new effects and features as you move through the program because each tier you unlock gives you access to more.
Unlocking Upgrades
You need to get Green Vouchers, which you get when your character levels up, in order to buy upgrades. As you keep doing trials and meeting goals, your experience level rises, which lets you get more coupons. Then, you can use these coupons to buy new tiers in any of the three update groups: Amps, Prescriptions, or Rigs.
Since you have to get each upgrade in order, you have to open the ones that came before them before you can move on to higher levels. This method supports steady growth and makes sure that your Reagent gets better over time by continuing to take part in trials.

Accessing the Upgrade Menu
You can find your improvement choices and see what's offered at each level in the hub area. After that, you can decide how to spend your Green Vouchers based on how you like to play and which skills will help you stay alive the most.
Each choice you make in The Outlast Trials affects how you play. You can focus on direct help powers through Rigs, passive boosts through Prescriptions, or fine-tuning improvements through Amps.
