The Radeon RX 9060 XT 8GB is the most affordable option in AMD's latest lineup. The question is whether it can handle a hard game like Battlefield 6. When modern games push hardware to its limits, it's always challenging to find a budget-friendly GPU that can maintain a steady framerate.
Battlefield 6 is an excellent way to test this card's performance across various settings and resolutions, thanks to its expansive areas and dynamic environments.

Setting up the test and the game conditions
The RX 9060 XT 8GB was used for the benchmark with a Ryzen 700X3D processor, resulting in a balanced configuration that avoids CPU bottlenecks. It also features 16GB of RAM, which is more than enough for stable gameplay.
We tested Battlefield 6 at native Full HD resolution with three presets: Low, Medium, and High. We also used upscaling tools like FSR to see if performance improved.
The goal was to see whether the RX 9060 XT 8GB could maintain smooth framerates for competitive play while using VRAM effectively. The testing primarily focused on Conquest mode, the most popular Battlefield mode, because it's so intense and attracts a large number of players.
How well it works on low settings
When I ran Battlefield 6 on the Low preset without upscaling, I achieved an average of about 160 frames per second. VRAM usage remained around 5GB, providing the system with sufficient room to continue running smoothly.
The gameplay was fluid and responsive at this setting, and it worked well with monitors featuring refresh rates of 100Hz, 120Hz, 144Hz, or even 165Hz.
We found that the RX 9060 XT 8GB was more than fast enough for competitive gaming, where frame rates are more important than graphics quality. It had a steady frame rate and low latency, which made it perfect for online matches.
How VRAM and medium settings work
When I changed the settings to Medium, VRAM utilisation increased by roughly 1GB, which is close to the card's 8GB maximum. The average frame rate was between 165 and 180 frames per second, resulting in a seamless playing experience.
It was clear that memory usage was higher, and the visual difference was also evident. Players who prioritize winning may want to keep their settings low or medium, as this allows the GPU to work optimally and prevents stutters caused by memory issues.
At this level, FSR still provided a useful performance boost without compromising the input's sensitivity.
Testing at High Settings
When I raised the quality to High, VRAM utilisation rose to around 7GB, which is almost the GPU's maximum capacity. The RX 9060 XT maintained about 100 fps even without FSR, which is a very good result for a card in its price range. When FSR was enabled, frame rates increased further while gameplay remained smooth.
However, since a significant amount of VRAM is being utilized, it's best to leave a little buffer, approximately 20%, to prevent stuttering during extended sessions or in high-demand scenes. High settings will work for most people, but they may not be suitable for very competitive situations.
Overall Playability and Balance of the System
Battlefield 6 stayed stable on the RX 9060 XT 8GB in all tests. The game ran at 150-160 frames per second (fps) at Low settings without upscaling, and over 200 fps with FSR enabled. At roughly 165 fps, medium settings performance and visuals. High settings stayed around 100fps even without FSR.
We found that this GPU is suitable for gamers who want to play Full HD games at high refresh rates. A good CPU, such as the Ryzen 700X3D, and quick RAM help keep frame pacing and performance stable.

Final Thoughts
The RX 9060 XT 8GB runs Battlefield 6 nicely, with consistent frame rates across many settings. Low or Medium settings are best for competitive play, as they offer a decent balance of clarity and responsiveness.
Ultra settings push the card past its VRAM limit, but the performance GPU can handle newer titles well within its limits.
The RX 9060 XT 8GB remains a solid choice for gamers seeking consistent Full HD performance without breaking the bank. It can play Battlefield 6 and other online games with reliable and responsive gameplay.
