3DS Demos Have Limited Amount Of Uses [WTF]
News by Daavpuke on Jan 19, 2012
Nintendo and internet has always been a quirky combination. How many of you bought into the Gamecube Broadband extension, to realize you could only ever play Phantasy Star Online with it? PSO wasn’t a bad game, mind you, but Nintendo’s struggle with the online community made a strong appearance with this and has dwindled on since then.
Flash forward to present day where the Nintendo 3DS will finally include the promised demo titles in the eShop. Apart from the interface cluster hump it is, it’s a bit of info on the demo itself that caught our interest.
Underneath the demos for Resident Evil: Revelations and Cooking Mama 4, released today, there’s a line that states: “Uses Remaining: 30.” It counts down every time the software is launched, implicating a set amount of launches possible before the stock is depleted. Luckily, the number of 30 seems more than reasonable for anyone to get sick of playing the same thing over and over. But still, it seems like Nintendo doesn’t want you to enjoy something for nothing too much. These are strange tactics once more. Nintendo has also announced to be releasing demos in the future for Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater 3D and Rhythm Thief, amongst others.
