Brad Pitt as John Marston?

So I’m pretty sure you’ve heard rumors of Brad Pitt starring in a proposed Dark Void movie not too long ago. As it turns out, there’s another video game movie tie-in Brad Pitt is given high consideration for; as the lead character of Rockstar’s smash hit, Red Dead Redemption.

 

Pitt starred in the western drama, The Assassination of Jesse James. That means he can totally play as John Marston...right?

 

The rumor originated from Showbiz Spy, in which an unknown Hollywood source is claiming Brad Pitt is the top favorite to play John Marston. They’re also stating he is “perfect for the role,” and is “being given first refusal.” Additionally, the idea for this movie tie-in is to make it in the “style of an epic Western movie with a few modern touches.”

 

Is the rumor legitimate? Maybe, maybe not. Considering Brad Pitt’s Hollywood status and ability as an actor, I think he can pull off a pretty good John Marston. But the movie tie-in itself is pretty weird; I get the feeling that Hollywood is losing ideas and is trying a bit too hard. But whether or not Brad Pitt accepts or refuses the role, it’ll still be interesting to see their take on this Western epic.
