Catherine US Release Officially Confirmed

Atlus’s latest sexy thriller/puzzle platformer has been generating a lot of buzz lately. As soon as the game came out in Japan last month, many awaited any official word from the publisher. “When is this game actually coming out in the US? When? You are going to release it here, right?”

 

Fortunately, people can finally put their worries to rest, as Catherine has been officially confirmed for release in North America. Despite a previously-leaked price listing and Atlus’s earlier “no US release for Catherine” announcement, the publisher has put up the game’s official North American website complete with pre-order links to Amazon, VGP (Video Games Plus), and Gamestop, as well as its release window for Summer 2011. It’s also worth mentioning that Amazon has a more detailed description on Catherine, complete with synopsis, gameplay features, and the solid release date of July 26, 2011. So far, there has been no word on a European release.

 

Oh yeah. It's official, alright.

 

This is great, considering I don’t have to import a copy from PlayAsia and gradually lose my mind over not understanding a single word from the Japanese version. Nevertheless, I am excited and will be keeping my eye on Catherine when it finally launches this summer on both the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.

 

And since I’m too embarrassed to walk out of a Gamestop with that box art, well…I’m just glad Amazon’s got my back.
