Duke Nukem is back!

Wait; didn’t we have this already?

Yes, but this is what we call a bait and switch.  This, in fact, is an entirely new venture.

On the Gearbox forums, a user called ‘fresch’ posted screens and info about a possible remake of the original Duke Nukem 3D. This won’t be his first try either, after already working on a remake for, erm, Daikatana….yeah. At least you can see he knows how to make dilapidated stuff look good.

He will try and build the 1996 original onto the Unreal Engine 3 and currently awaits the green lights from 3D Realms to make it. If approved, fresch is also looking for some people to help him realize this, you tech-savvy geekoids.

Who would’ve guessed there would be two Duke Nukem games popping their heads up in 2010? And at the risk of sounding contradictory: I’d be excited to play this amazing improvement and watch the king kick some ass. Would you?
