E3 2010: 45,000+ in Attendance, Recap
News by David on Jun 17, 2010
The Electronic Entertainment Expo of the year 2010 is finally coming to a close today. As bittersweet as it sounds, it was definitely an impressive showing this year, with all the motion control features, 3D games, eye-candy showcases, and an overwhelming lineup of video game booths on the show floor. It was an exciting event no doubt, and the good news is that E3 will return next year.
According to Gamespot, an industry source has confirmed E3 2011 will return at the Los Angeles Convention Center in the days of June 7-9 next year. E3 2010’s attendance was superb, featuring more than 45,000 in attendance and hundreds of exhibitors from all over the world. It was slightly better than E3 2009’s attendance, with 41,000 + people clamoring to see the biggest and best in the video game industry.
The Big Three were, as always, the center of attention. All eyes were Sony’s Playstation Move, Microsoft’s Kinect, and Nintendo’s 3DS. Thankfully, despite that, there were games. There were surprise announcements of Twisted Metal, Portal 2 on the Playstation 3, and a montage of trailers and game demos on the show floor.
