E3 2010: Call of Duty DLC first on Xbox until 2012
News by Ian Mailloux on Jun 14, 2010
During Microsoft's E3 press conference, Microsoft's Don Mattrick revealed a multi-year agreement between the console maker and Activision regarding first rights to Call of Duty downloadable content.
The three-year deal will see any and all game add-ons and map packs released on the Xbox 360 first, beginning this year with Treyarch's Call of Duty: Black Ops.
How long the exclusive time period is was not mentioned, but it's safe to assume it will at least echo the release pattern for Modern Warfare 2's DLC.
Also interesting to note the use of the phrase "exclusive to Xbox 360," perhaps implying the continuation of the current console generation until at least 2013.
