E3 2010: Sony Plans 500GB PS3

News by David  on  Jun 14, 2010

According to British gaming website, CVG, Sony is planning to unveil two new versions of the Playstation 3 at their press conference Tuesday, June 15. If CVG’s source is correct, Sony is rumored to be releasing 500GB and 250 GB PS3s that will be bundled with the publisher’s motion controller, the Playstation Move.

The new versions of the PS3 will come with a faster, more improved Wi-Fi connection (802.11n wireless). The current versions of the PS3 are using the much slower, 802.11 b/g standard. In other words, Internet connection will be a lot faster and smoother than usual.

The rumor has been confirmed by another source, Engadget. According to them, Sony has registered two new PS3 versions with the Federal Communications Commission.

We’ll hold off speculations for now, as we’ll find out at Sony’s conference tomorrow, June 15.
