Euro Stores Break Street Dates On Gears Of War 3 And Space Marine

It seems retailers are getting fresh with publishers these days. We’re all eager to get splashing on major releases, but selling products before an agreed release date is not that far off from leaking copies. The folks at VG247 reported of a Norwegian online retailer breaking that agreement with none other than Epic release Gears of War 3.

Customers with plausible proof of their early game post their pics online.
The third person, chest-high-walls and wall-wide-chests game is set for release this September 20, but according to customers posting proof, online store Elkjop.no is not playing ball. Naturally, this isn’t to Microsoft’s approval, which sees the store pissing in their exclusive coffee. And store representatives of course have no idea how this happened. But rest assured; this will be investigated.
This news came right after THQ informing us that Benelux retailers had broken street date on Warhammer 40K: Space Marine. Both in Belgium and The Netherlands, select stores had passed on copies prior to release, which is strange because yours truly resides there and hadn’t even seen Space Marine promo. Regardless, this seems to be a strange trend, where shops are trying to test the limits, to see just how far they can get. Don’t forget that doing that stuff will get you burnt, guys.
Space Marine is a man's Gears of War. Now with added nerd flavor.
By the way, is it weird that in both cases the games revolve around broad men in third person whacking the intestines off anything that moves? It seems they can not be contained. For the emperor!
