God of War 3 Launches
News by Fishdalf on Mar 16, 2010
God of War 3 is released today in North America, and we thought we’d mark the occasion with a few facts about the game that you may, or may not know.
1. It was first announced at E3 in July 2008, and then a demo was released a year later at the event. The same demo is now available for download on the PlayStation Store in both North America and Europe.
2. The game doesn’t appear to last very long, something game director Stig Asmussen all but confirms after he stated it would take no longer than 10 to 20 hours to complete, from start to finish, “depending on how good of a gamer you are”.
3. The game has already received critical acclaim from a whole host of top sites. It currently has an average of 93.04% on GameRankings and 93/100 on Metacritic.
4. The sheer scale of the game is something to behold. Some enemies are larger than entire levels in other titles. You can also now have up to 50 enemies on screen at any one time – that’s a big leap from the cap of 15 in previous titles.
5. Terrence C. Carson returns as the voice of Kratos. He is an American singer and stage, film and television actor, whose lent his voice to games such as: Unreal Tournament 3, Saints Row, and EverQuest II, as well as multiple Star Wars titles as Mace Windu.
God of War 3 is released in Australia, March 18, Europe, March 19, and Japan, March 25. The game is exclusive to PlayStation 3.
