New Marvel vs Capcom 3 characters announced

Not content with introducing two characters to its roster, Capcom began the Tokyo Game Show this week by officially unveiling Mega Man series regular Tron Bonne from Capcom’s side, as Wolverine’s clone, X-23 makes its debut for Marvel; also making their way for the game is two additional characters as announced by Capcom at their stage show recently.

Let the fighting commence next spring...
A figure that has figured prominently in each of the games, Spider-Man makes a return in his trademark blue and red costume. Based on the gameplay videos that Capcom presented at their stage show, it would seem that Spidey would keep many of his old moves from the previous games, but also don a couple of new zip line techniques that let him get quickly behind his enemies. His ultimate move also has been given a visual overhaul – Spidey now zips back and forth wall, while encasing his enemies in web cocoons, and finished them with a menacing foot stomp from high ground.
Resident Evil main villain, Albert Wesker makes his debut for the Marvel vs Capcom series and it sees him done his classic dark jacket, dark clothes and black shades. Based on the gameplay video that was shown, it would seem that one of Wesker’s key moves would be a nifty teleport that enables him to move around the screen. Three moves were shown – the first being a counter attack that allowed him to drop an opponent mid-way (in this case, Captain America), while the next one was a series of quick hits that saw him bounce from one wall to the next. The third had Wesker hitting his enemy numerous times, before leaping over their head, producing a torpedo from thin air, and throwing it at his enemy. Epic stuff.
On hand to show off the new characters, producer Ryota Niitsuma confirm that the game will makes its way to stores in spring, 2011. Watch this space as we bring you more Marvel vs Capcom updates.
