Rumor: God of War 4 will be released in September 2012

God of War 4 is already being developed and will be released in September 2012, according to an unofficial but respected source, the PSM3 magazine. The confirmation was revealed in a resume, referencing to a "God of War IV cinematic test."

Although the animator who announced it said that it is not related with the God of War series, the magazine revealed even more: "PSM3 heard from another source that God of War 4 is coming and will be released in September 2012. Our source works closely with the universe of God of War, and let slip that the developers would be working at the same time, in a project related to their game."

 

While God of War 3 completed the Kratos trilogy, Santa Monica Studios has said in the past that "it is not the end" of the popular PlayStation 3 exclusive franchise. "It's definitely the end of the trilogy, but we will continue to develop games for the GoW series."
 

There are also rumors that this new God of War game will feature online cooperative mode. More details will crop up eventually. Stay tuned.
